Do you always leave your defense on default "positioning"?

    Thanks,

I sure do. So I don’t know know what your watching. I do not do those traditional over shifts like the CPU does a lot. Will I do them for certain hitters? Yeah.

What I do though is play corners in, play my defense halfway or in, pkay the bunt or drag.

I am more of a traditional baseball strategist than that new school over shift. But I absolutely make adjustments when the situation calls for it.

Also, how long do these ratings changes stay where you can see them? In other words, when exactly do you go about making your edits? After the World Series or during the start of Spring Training?

Right after player retirements I do regression adjustments based on warm winds house rules.

Good Friday to you all. Morning Joe With The Show Yankees Year 4 vs The Indians streaming live now.

Also going to change things up in my franchises by using offset zoom batting camera at home games and fisheye for all road games (only in my Yankees franchise for now to see if I like it). I love offset zoom too and it puts you right in batters box. I rake pretty well with it. Just something to freshen things up for me since I play all 162 in this chise.

Offset Zoom camera....naaaaa fisheye for these old eyes. Offset zoom days are over!!!

Had a thrilling come from behind win vs the Tribe to salvage a win in game three of that series and avoid the sweep. Brett Gardner back in the starting lineup shows us why!

News wire story on the game coming later. And more franchise streams tonight!!

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

Stating my case for starter stamina increased to 6.

After a few weeks of terrible roster-itis (no slider-itis thanks to Armour), I decided to use mkharsh33 v9.0 roster and I played my first game of my Reds franchise (for the 4th time)

Flaherty - stamina rating of 80 - fairly high
Gray - stamina rating of 78

After 4 innings I’m down 1-0. At this point Flaherty has thrown 72 pitches, given up 3 hits (2 by Gray), has 4 k’s and I’ve been late on 11 of his 19 95+ fastballs (pitch speed at 9/8, really got to be sitting fastball to catch up to his heater)

Flaherty comes out for the 5th, as he should at this point. His energy bar goes in to the yellow on his 78th pitch (so about 6-8 pitches more than with stamina at 5). Thankfully he finally makes a mistake and with 2 out he hangs an 0-2 slider to Galvis and the score is tied 1-1. Flaherty finished the inning at 87 pitches and his energy bar barely in the yellow. Bottom of the 6th they bring in Kim (thank God). I score 2 in the 6th on 2 rbi singles and hang on to win 3-1.

              Flaherty’s line was 5 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 k’s, 87 pitches - very reasonable

Now Gray. He is also pitching well and after 6 innings he now has a 3-1 lead. So far he has given up 7 hits and struck out 7. So I bring him out for the 7th as he has only thrown 71 pitches and energy bar is still in the green. He strikes out the first 2 guys (but it takes 10 pitches to do so). He is now at 81 and his energy bar also went in to the yellow at pitch 78. After a walk and a single Gray’s night is done - throwing 92 pitches

It just seemed more reasonable with it at 6. I’m certain Flaherty would have been pulled after 4 innings even though he was pitching well and had the lead if the stamina was at 5.

Obviously I’m not an expert, but I played and followed enough ball to know that stamina at 6 played out much more realistic.

At the moment I'm just rolling along with my franchise, enjoying playing like I should be. However, I'm curious as to what would constitute a slider or even a difficulty level change. As in, at what point would you make one? I've played 33 games and my hitting is just insane. I lead in every offensive category by a fairly wide margin and I have three guys hitting well over .400 in May. Baez is hitting .471 at the moment, haha. I keep waiting for the averages to start slipping but it just hasn't happened yet. I do have a three game set against the Dodgers coming up so maybe that will do it.

After looking at your numbers I think it’s time for to move either move up to legend batting or max out pitch speeds. Averaging 3 Home runs a game after the first month just wouldn’t be fun to me. I say go to legend hitting and hof pitching

I would start with CPU Hook down one click to 4 before I touch stamina.

Try that out for several games first. I am just not seeing enough of this on a consistent basis to disrupt the balance of ratings by moving stamina up to 6 in todays MLB environment.

If you want to move it up to 6 (stamina) try that instead. Up to you. I suggest playing 30-40 games first. I really cannot stress that enough.

I really hate to make drastic changes as I've had good results on Hall of Fame for years now. This is the first year that I'm just absolutely dominating on a crazy level like this. I've checked SO many times to make sure my difficulty setting is right and make sure I'm not missing something because at times it just feels like I've been playing on Veteran. Yet every time I check... Hall of Fame. Haha.

The other thing I think it could possibly be is I've been playing on a Asus monitor instead of my 4K QLED TV. It's obviously much, much smaller but the framerate is amazing and on my QLED I was getting horrendous framerate drops on pitches about once every two innings. Nothing was more frustrating than having a crazy framerate drop on a 3-2 pitch in a crucial situation which happened to me enough that I moved pretty much permanently to the monitor I'm using now.

I feel like I'm just seeing the ball better than ever. I am playing with Armor's sliders with only a couple minor tweaks (both Human and CPU timing is at 4 and both Human and CPU pitch consistency is up one at 6). I'm still sixth in the league in walks and Schwarber is tied for the MLB lead with 22. I lead in hits, runs, home runs, doubles, triples, and other categories as well. I hate to make a crazy adjustment mid-season especially. I've never won the World Series on this game, the furthest I've ever gotten was Game 7 of the NLCS. I'm more inclined to just ride this out and win the whole thing if my bats can keep this up.

Don't go to legend yet , but you can't keep this going either . Try these and I would love to hear ur feedback .

I was in the same boat as you and after 60 games and having hit 20+ homers with 3 player and leading the league in all offensive stats and also having the best record with the Jays I couldn't keep playing like that . I've tested over 150 games now with all sorts of changes including legend. And those changes listed above have been great so far in the last 30 games , overall everything looks good and on a believable level .

I’m about to start a MLB The Show 20 series on YouTube called “Can ANYBODY Score in Any Way Besides a Home Run?”

I don’t think so! Been quite some time... feels broken honestly even with this great slider set. I don’t understand for the life of me how I can be the only one who feels this way. Is it me? Doesn’t make sense.

Cue the “ride it out” and “sample size” crowd in 3... 2... 1...

I don’t think so! Been quite some time... feels broken honestly even with this great slider set. I don’t understand for the life of me how I can be the only one who feels this way. Is it me? Doesn’t make sense.

Cue the “ride it out” and “sample size” crowd in 3... 2... 1...
Im not seeing this at all unless I’m playing the play now games which are geared towards that.
