Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I have a question about the re-rates at the end of the season. At the end of the year, will it tell me how much the guy regressed? Like with Stanton, would it tell me if he lost say 4 points in contact?Follow me on Twitch

Also on this topic (and not to derail the thread), but I’m 10ish games in and and attribute changes for my players are negative—despite most of my guys playing exceptionally well so far
Is this due to poor staff, and/or training? Also—will I start to see some positives over time, or is this just a bug?

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Steelers and Burgess,
Keep me informed how your games are going with those adjustments I suggested.
After I complete the month of May in all three of my franchises I will be finalizing this slider set.
So stay tuned everyone. In the meantime....if the OP is working for you....stick with it. If it is not...check the adjustments I suggest to Steelerd a page back.
Have fun with it!!!!
Solids hits for cpu/human - 4
Pitcher consistency for cpu/human - 6
Pitch speed 9/8 (but going to go down to 8/7 to start my franchises as I was too late too often even when sitting fastball in hitter’s counts - but that was mainly on 95+ heaters)
I really liked the feel. Actually saw less homers and even more hit variety than before - solid singles, doubles off the wall, and even a couple of triples in the 6 games I played with this setup. Pitch consistency at 6 didn’t result in a noticeable amount of more strikeouts for me, as I’m a pretty aggressive hitter and don’t really strikeout a lot - probably average 7 k’s a game. But what was noticeable was that there was certainly a separation between great/good pitchers and average/poor pitchers when it came to hitting their spots and causing weak contact, if any.
The only change I can see myself making is going back up to 9/8 pitch speed if I’m ahead on fastballs too often. But other than that I’m off to the races.
But in my humble opinion, and God knows I’m no slider expert (which is why I follow Armour religiously) one more tweak needs to be made and that is starter stamina for both cpu and human has to be moved to 6. I have just seen too many times when the cpu pulls a starter after 4 innings when he has only given up a few hits and a few walks and is winning. Yes, it happens when the pitcher is around 72 -74 pitches, but it just wouldn’t happen IRL, the guy would be allowed to go out for the 5th to try to qualify for the win. And moving up to 6 also improves the CPU’s management of the bullpen - as he isn’t always bringing in the long reliever as the first guy out of the pen because the starter is going 5+ innings more often.
So that is how I’m going to roll to start my Reds and Yankees franchises using mkharsh33 v9.0 rosters.
I am playing on HOF with the clean screen. I listen to the catcher 99.9% of the time - only time I don’t is when I’m ahead in the count with two strikes on the hitter - I will listen to the pitch call of the catcher but will aim a LOT farther off the plate than he suggests. I don’t use the vibration and don’t really get hung up (or overthink) how long I press the button when pitching. Usually it’s just a tap or simple press of the x. Same as hitting - always press x except for trying to sacrifice bunt. No directional stick, no power button - just x. I have always had great and reasonable outcomes with this approach as I truly believe this allows the ratings to take over.
I’m 56 years old and keep things very simple to avoid human mistakes - auto fielding, auto baserunning and just pressing x to hit and pitch. I assure you that no one enjoys the game more than I do even with my simplistic approach.
Just want to thank Armour again for his outstanding sliders and all of his input and advice that makes the game so damn fun and realistic. Also a thank you to all of you other posters as well. This is the only thread I follow and I read every post. I value all of your thoughts and opinions as well.
If I can offer any advice it would be to don’t get too hung up on some stats like how many strikeouts or walks there are, how many runs are being scored on homers, etc. It’s a beautiful game that is as realistic as it’s going to get. Trust me, I’ve been playing baseball games as far back as the strat-o-matic board game and Earl Weaver computer game. This game is FANTASTIC!!
Sorry for my long post. Time to play ball. EnjoyYankees modern day

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
So I create one profile for my club with everything set to manual and then I have a profile called "CPU Franchise" which I assign to every team I do not want full control over.
Hey Armor, how exactly do you do this? Do you need two controllers?Comment

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
As requested, I’ve played several games with your sliders on your OP with the following tweaks:
Solids hits for cpu/human - 4
Pitcher consistency for cpu/human - 6
Pitch speed 9/8 (but going to go down to 8/7 to start my franchises as I was too late too often even when sitting fastball in hitter’s counts - but that was mainly on 95+ heaters)

FWIW I’ve been using timing at 4, solid hits 4 since I’ve seen armor suggest it. I absolutely love it. I kept pitch speeds at 7/6 though.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
The L.A. Dodgers called up hot pitching prospect Walker Buehler from AAA.
Buehler has been tearing up AAA as he took a little longer to develop than the Dodgers initially thought. This may be a sign they are seeing if Buehler can handle the role in the Show.
If he proves over the next month or two he is ready for prime time this could be the signal the Dodgers are sending about their seriousness in shedding Gerrit Coles massive back loaded deal he signed this past off-season. Or is it a sing they are moving on from long time multi Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw? It is unknown what is really in this thinking for the Dodgers who have been entertaining other teams calls besides the Yankees. One thing they do want? An Elite Power bat and elite glove. And that is what it will take to land either a Cole or Kershaw.
We know the Yankees desire a top Ace. We also know that 2022 and 2023 will be a couple of years where players like:
Aaron Judge
Gary Sanchez
Trea Turner
Greg Bird (2021)
Will be looking for big contracts. However contracts that will come off he books when those players will come knocking are:
Masahiro Tanaka
Ardolis Chapman
In the meantime The Yankees are playing excellent baseball again as they took game 1 of their critical early season 3 game series vs their hated rival in the Boston Red Sox 9-4. Domingo German again gave the Yankees what they needed pitching 6.2 strong innings yielding 4 runs. Now Playing on PS5:
