Same here. I upped cpu consistency to 6 to combat that tho.

Sorry for the slight thread derail armor

I’m starting to think a better adjustment might actually be in timing as opposed to power. This would (seemingly) do two things. 1) Generate fewer home runs and hard hit balls because of a smaller timing window and, 2) create more swing and misses which I think the game desperately needs on both sides.

I experimented with it in 19. Way too easy. I'm sure Armor would tell you he cannot vouch for analog as he doesn't test with it.

I've noticed when dropping timing the pitched ball becomes harder to pick up making a cpu changing speeds more effective and also making it harder to read ball or strike early in the delivery. This makes good pitchers especially tough to hit because they are already harder to pick up due to the great gameplay inherently in 20. Obviously bumping timing up does the opposite. The pitches look fatter.

Harder to pick up? I think it just narrows the timing window.

Agreed. It just narrows the window. I’m going to play some with timing at 4 for myself and the CPU.

Complete game shutout from Severino, and HRs from Gardner and Stanton.

I'll drop this here as just a reminder of what this is all about. When I first got this game and more or less rocked with the default sliders (similar base to Armors) I simply had the most fun playing the game. Then I started seeing some posts on home runs and it started getting into my own head, "hmmm yeah I have been seeing too many HRs). And just like that I had my own battle with slideritis almost to a point where I couldnt complete a game without wondering if it was real or not. All this to say last few days I forgot about the fun I had just plugging the sliders in a playing with no worries and with that being said I'm back to enjoying the game simply just playing with close to default sliders.

Appreciate the labbing everybody's doing and Armor thanks for giving us a place to brainstorm and discuss.

With that being said, doing my own 30 team control franchise with the Mets. Possibly the antithesis to Armor's stacked Yankees team lmao. If anybody's trying to kick it on the stream first pitch will be starting around 9:45 pm ET.
It is what it is. Drink some water.

Yeah the problem might not be the power , as my stats after 45 games played show it's not just the homers that come easy . I've had solid hits on 4 since day 1 and I still manage to lead the league in nearly all offensive / hitting stats. That includes batting Avg , total hits , doubles and runs . When guys like Rodwy Tellez , Teoscar Hernandez and Reese McGuire are all hitting over .300 there's something wrong there. Just last week when playing the Show 19 I was in season 3 with my Jays and the team by that time was nearly full of all 85+ rated players and we are ranked 7th overall there and I could never put up numbers like that there in 3 full seasons , but here all of the sudden with this jays team that's ranked 23th overall and has terrible contact stats but yet I'm the best hitting team and best team in the league after 45 games .

I don't know man. I have had a very fun, believable simulation experience on par with what I saw in 19 only with improved gameplay.
To me you seem to be a much more advanced hitter than a lot of us and you have way more games under your belt than me. You also seem to adjust to slider tweaks very quickly. Basically it's you dominating the game.

My best guess is you aren’t picking it up any better or worse but instead feeling/perceiving that you aren’t picking it up as well because what you previously would’ve hit or fouled off on default, you are now out in front missing (or late or whatever).

If you think about it though, that would be exactly what that slider would affect for your virtual batter.

Yea man. I've preffered analog(both hitting and pitching) since I started playing The Show '12. I moved to directional hitting and used Armor's slider set last year. I still use analog pitching with User Pitcher Control and Consistency at 2. I also have CPU Pitcher Consistency at 7.

This is some hitting data thru my first three games:
