Remember with the HR and everything else you need a 25 game sample size atleast. The first 6 or 7games for me the only way I scored was on the Hr and since than it has changed now in my 7 game win streak I'm scoring mostly on singles and doubles. Yeah I still hit homeruns but I also went 3 straight games without a homerun.

I'm through 20 games all on default and things are evening out. Just be careful not change the sliders every other game. For me default power is perfect and I'm getting realistic stats.

Def agreed, I waited 35 myself before making any changes outside of Starter Stamina, Wimd and Pitch speeds.

Like I said my last post was only after 1st game of my latest tweaks. However, honestly I've moved on from it being specifically a HR issue.

I started seeing too many fat pitches from both sides, that's why I set power back to default and went after consistency. Way way too early to tell anything definitely as you stated, but early results look good.

Also guys remember last year the mlb average for a game was 3 hr a game. Some there was plenty of games in real life with more than 3 hr and ofcourse less than 3.

Honestly # of HRs doesnt bother me, it's the ratio of runs scored via HR. Over a sample size a percent or 2 over 50 is as high as it should be. Based on last years stats anyway.

Well again like I said I have not adjusted power or any of the Major sliders as i call them (Contact, power etc), i have focused my time currently on consistency to slightly tone down the number of fat pitches.

I've really moved on from trying to reduce HRs specifically.

But from a pure #s standpoint after 35 games my % stood at just over 63% of my runs scored via HR, and just under 70% for the CPU. That was at default except for Pitch Speeds, Wind and Starter Stamina

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

I am very early in the testing phases of any slider changes. The adjustments I have made have been the right ones for me thus far.

1.04 dropped this morning and the only note I am paying attention to is pitch speed sliders having more range. I am at 7/6 fastball/offspeed so I will see how that affects it if any at all.

I am simply very pleased so far with HOF default with the slight tweaks I have made.

I simply need 35-40 games (yes more than before) to truly get a great feel of fielding, base running, pitching and hitting. SO far my game variety has been...outstanding. I want a lot more games vs better teams to also get a much better grasp of my hitting which right now.....I am on fire. But it is so early.

Last year I started so cold....I mean ice cold.

So please enjoy playing the game. We will have a finalized set in the next several weeks. Baseball is a marathon....not a race and I am taking a very conservative, measured approach this cycle. And the reason is I am blown away at the incredible balance of an almost purely default set-up out of the box on HOF.

I'm having a blast so far through 20 games. Lots of variety. Hitting is hard I will say that maybe I think baserunners and outfielders run a tad too fast but we'll have to see. And maaayyybbeee outfielder arm strength is too low. It just seems too easy to make the decision to send the runner at this point. Definitely having a great time so far though.

The patch has even made home runs even more spike it’s no longer a small sample size now played every game on opening day.

And 90% were all home runs

Again.....so many games I need to get under my belt. But I had a fantastic moment in my series at Tampa where a ball was roped into the left field corner and after taking it off the wall (I preloaded the throw) I had BRyce Harper throw a freaking seed to second base to gun down the hitter trying to stretch it into a double.

This never happened once on MLB 19 in over 800 hours played.

MLB 20 has taken the little things in gameplay and fixed them.

CPU runners being aggressive, OF getting to balls with more urgency and throwing with more urgency.

It is on a whole new level defensively.

Not to mention just the ability to get doubles and hit balls down the lines and in gaps WITHOUT having to reduce fielder speed like we have for how many years?

I know.....the exit velocity off the bat has never been more realistic. SDS really hit a grand slam with MLB 20's gameplay.

                          Just Marvelous.

Last night I hit a line drive to left center that was caught, it was absolutely crushed, and it felt like I actually hit the ball, it was that satisfying. If it happened all the time it wouldn't feel so special LOL

Armor, I read over your clean-screen pitching tutorial, and I have two questions (forgive me if I've missed the obvious):

                              1) How do you tell if your pitcher wants the pitch high or low without using R2?

                              2) How do you tell if the pitcher wants it in or out of the zone without using R2?

I seem to remember the catcher having some kind of way of signaling this, but it's been 2 years since I've really played The Show and I can't recall.

                              Thanks!

And it's the Miami Marlins for me this go 'round!

I think you can pitch wherever you want to pitch, the R2 isn't really a strategy, I think it's just randomized.
