Armor - in your 30 team control - do you do contract extensions for each team including your own or do you let the CPU automatically sign whomever for the other 29 teams not including yours?

I let the CPU handle extensions. The only time I handle them is if I initiated a “storyline” trade between two CPU teams or a CPU team and myself and know the intention is to extend the key players in the deal.

I've had a phantom pitcher injury this year too. Ball was fouled lightly off to the side. Never came close to the pitcher. Out for the season with a fractured skull.

I decided to not make a fuss for two reasons though.

        1. I have a rule: whatever happened, happened. No matter how freaky, there are no resets in my universe unless it's the only way to fix a big (ie a corrupted save). Gameplay bugs all happen.

        2. This came two days after my Ace had taken a nasty shot to the head. We're taking writhing on the ground nasty. He had to be taken out of the game, but at the end of the game no injury prompt came up. I figured I should take my licks with my #3 starter out for the season (and possibly career ending). It's more than fair. I plan for my ace to be on my team for many, many years to come, and he is without a doubt the best starter in the game.

I do hope my #3 comes back next season, but I'm more willing to face that challenge of replacing him then my ace. My minor league talent pool is good, but not that good.

Things are getting serious now. I bought a 5950 Reds cap yesterday to wear while playing. The 12 year old in me will never go away.

Minor issue that I had to start working around to stay immersed as the playoff push was happening in Sept. Maybe my hints will help you or just give you an opportunity to experience the game a little differently......I go through the schedule before my game and simulate all other games of the day. But I do not look at the results so I can get the score board watching as I am playing my game. The only issue is the commentary and on screen display by the score box in the first inning. The games already simulated are factored into the Division and Wild Card standings. I tried to avoid it once I noticed it figured those games but it was hard. But, I eventually was able to by knowing it popped up after the first pitch....so I would choose my next pitch without looking, then step off. The display went away. Now to avoid the commentary....I have simply went to on the field audio. I love it! The redundant announcing is overbearing after awhile. A couple years ago you could choose to turn down some commentators. So I would leave Matty V on cause he really just calls the game....it's the annoying sidekicks that get really old over 162 games. It's pretty cool when you a hit a wall scraper and you really dont know if it's gone or not. The voice clues give it away when commentary is on, but without it is like you are there and experiencing the game more realistic. I like it. Maybe this wasn't the right thread but I think folks in this thread would understand a little more than on the main forum board.

We think alike. I simulate all the days games as well (30 team control you have to do that to get the score ticker to work) and scoreboard watch as well. I rarely play with commentary on anymore as well (only MLB Network games now).

                  Far more immersion. Agree 100%.

I have not streamed in quite some time (simply been so busy so when i game I have been locked into playing several games a night). I am heading into theme stretch of Yankees Year 4 and about to finish August.

September call ups coming......and we are dominating our division as we are pulling away.

Right now the post season would look like:

                  A.L.
                  Yankees
                  Indians
                  Mariners

                  Wild Card
                  Red Sox
                  Blue Jays

                  N.L.
Marlins (huge surprise as they have built a great team in my franchise via farm and free agency/trades)
                  Cubs
Rockies (another huge turnaround story as they gutted the team in Year 1 and now the fruits of their labors are paying off. They are clinging to a 2 game lead over the Dodgers and Giants)

                  Wild Card
                  Dodgers
                  Giants

I will be streaming today/tonight and get back at a regular stream schedule as we head into the post season of Year 4.

I will then focus on the 1980’s Royals Year 1 Strat-O-Matic fantasy draft team we constructed. That roster is pure nostalgia gold for me.

                    Yankees Year 4 Update

The Yankees started their 3 game set with the A.L. Central leading Indians with a by the numbers 5-1 win. However it came with a cost. 3 Yankees had to exit the game with injuries. And the results from one of them was not good. Catcher Gary Sanchez who already missed 2 months earlier in the season is now out again for 1-2 months with a fractured hand. Sanchez who earlier in the game had an RBI single and a solo HR was hit by a pitch and grabbed his hand. X-Rays revealed a fracture. Rookie Julius Cooley will again be thrusted into the starters role and recently acquired “B” catching prospect Tyler Stephenson (via trade with S.F. Giants) has been added to the 40 man roster and called up.

SS Trea Turner also came up with a strained ligament in his throwing elbow after turning a double play. Fortunately it looks like a maximum 2 week injury as it is a grade one strain. Tyler Wade will take his place at SS. According to manager Sammy Law Clint Frazier will be given a chance to hit lead off in Turners absence.

Starting pitcher Domingo German also had to leave the game after pitching 4 strong innings of shutout ball. He strained his index finger throwing a pitch and is day to day. He may miss one turn. If so Shawn Roche will take his turn in the rotation.

Game two of the series will be streaming live this evening. Join me as the Yankees are closing out the month of August in year 4 as they March to October and look to win their 2 title in 4 years.

I've been really in a groove in my Phils Franchise, 2021 season. After a break to play TLOU 2 and GoT here n there, I'm back to playing 4 or 5 games in a row.

Having an incredible season, Phils are the #3 team in all of baseball in mid June, with a 10+ game lead in the Division. They're showing making it to the World Series and losing in 7 games was no fluke. Don't know why, but the Braves and Nats just aren't strong teams anymore. Marlins were competitive beginning of the season but fell off. The Mets are just bad, but they do have 5 of the top prospects in the league.

Rhys Hoskins is having a MVP year. .287 avg w/ 80 RBIs(1st) and 35 HRs(1st) in Mid June. At the pace he's going he has a legit shot to break the season HR record.

Games have been playing incredible, getting all kinds of variety, Wins and losses.

I haven't been this much in to a sports game probably since Madden 05. Makes me wish EA cared about Franchise mode as much as the Show. As much as I love Football and it's my #1 sport, the Show makes me love baseball even more.

So this is my customary I just threw my first no-hitter post!
In my 80's fantasy franchise JR Richard struck out 12, walked 1 and no hit the Indians in a 10-0 win. Nothing off the Indians bats even came close to a knock as Richard utterly dominated. It was clear to me at the end of the 4th inning he had a chance. The stuff was explosive and Indians hitters were flailing.
This game came on the heels of a 13 inning win followed by a 21 inning win in back-to-back nights. The bullpen needed the night off and the Big Fella gave it to them.
Eric Davis and Don Slaught both hit 3-run bombs and the win improved us to 16-10.
                        What a fun experience. I hadn't pitched a no-no since MVP 05.

                          Little Phillies Franchise update.

Nearing the end of June. 4 game series with the Braves up next. Entering this game we had a 4.5 game lead over the Braves. Game one of the series couldn't have gone any better. Zack Wheeler on the mound and he proceeds to pitch a 9 inning, 6 hit complete game shutout! Best pitching performance of the season to this point. He was masterful. 9 innings, 6 hits, 1 walk, and 7 strikeouts. Wheeler is now 8-1 with a 1.98 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 23 walks, and 83 strikeouts in 100 innings pitched. Even before Nola went down with his injury, Wheeler has definitely been the Ace of the staff. He is even more important now with Nola out.

So we stand at 54-23 on June 23rd with a 5.5 game lead over the Braves.

Since calling up Alec Bohm after Scott Kingery was injured, he has hit .250 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles and 4 RBI in 28 at-bats.

Bryce Harper continues to make his case for NL MVP. He is hitting .325/.423/.774 with 30 doubles, 1 triple, 33 home runs, 79 RBI, 50 walks, and a 1.197 OPS in 292 at-bats. Just killing it.

J.T. Realmuto has stayed consistent all season. He is hitting .364/.452/.752 with 23 doubles, 1 triple, 24 home runs, 59 RBI, 40 walks, and a 1.204 OPS in 250 at-bats.

In the bullpen, Seranthony Dominguez continues to be the best setup man in baseball this season. In 36 innings pitched, he is 6-0 with a 0.25 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 10 walks, 55 strikeouts and only 2 runs (1 earned run) allowed.

Closer Hector Neris has been struggling a bit lately but overall he is 1-1 with 20 saves, 3 blown saves, 3 walks, 37 strikeouts, 10 earned runs allowed, 0.96 WHIP, and a 3.33 ERA in 27 innings pitched.

I know a lot of people on here turn the announcers off. But I do have to share something very funny. The announcers were criticizing the manager for putting Kershaw in the lineup versus a left handed pitcher. LOL. I guess I should have started Kershaw a different game lol

What’s everyone’s thoughts on zone hitting? Is directional the way to go to be more realistic?
