Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

I have got through March playing every single game and every single at bat!!!

so a heartbreaking loss for the roockis ended march led 1-0 against the dodgers who they had held to one hit up until the 9th innings. Bard Blows the save and the dodgers 4 straight hits got them a 2-1 walk off win. and the rockies now lose 5 straight games

Not getting tired of this game at all with the season approaching nothing tells me to buy mlb 21 and stick to 20 just doing my thing so far

Twins are off to a 5-1 start.

so yep most teams have played 5 or 6 games now and I have played every single pitch of every game so far. just playing 2 games a night. I am just going to keep playing this way until eventually there will become a time I will sim to the end.

things to note Betts is hitting about 600 to start the year

Sotto and tatis are off to terrible slow starts hitting about 100 each.

This game is as realistic as any sports game can ever be I love it! I love the randomness of baseball and this game just shows it

when I have more a sample side let's get through to mid April I will start posting some lead leaguer stats and who is hot and cold.

I’m trying to figure out a system for ejections for arguing calls at the plate.

If anyone has any ideas for that I would love to hear them!!

That would be cool MLB would never allow it in the game. the only thing on how to get a ejection is throw the ball at a player after a warning. maybe add in some sort of suspension system too after it? lol we just edit it as a injury but pretend it's a suspension.

I dunno maybe when the player argues on the animation about a strike that is clearly a ball you could say that is a ejection and sub him out of the game. I have had a few BS calls like that recently. but that's baseball and I like that

Yes sir that’s the animations I’m looking to play off of.

Number generator, but what kind of a set up with it?

You have umps that totally blow in this game. The ones behind the plate that have awful/moving strike zones would be the ones the quickest to send a player to the clubhouse, as opposed to a more consistent ump.

Yeah, there are some umps that the announcers say are more approachable than others. Could be like something like the 2nd time you see the animation you take him out. I think hitters sometimes give a reaction but I want to say it’s only for strike 3.

Do players really get suspended for arguing called strikes unless they like make contact with the ump?

I know when you hit batters they give warnings and eject you but I have never seen the CPU hit me enough to make the ump give them a warning.

That would be a cool thing to do. I think it was All-Star Baseball that you couldn’t do any manager moves if you got your manager ejected. Would be cool if they brought that in the game and that would sometimes give your players a confidence boost or fire them up.

I was more referring to suspensions of pitchers hitting the batter, MLB will refuse them to right to charge the mound though sadly. I really do think they have build a secret code for this too.. most times if I have hit the CPU batters. they have actually in returned hit one of my players back later in the game.. I don't think it is a co-incidence either I really think the devs secretly put something into the game with this. it happens 8 times out of 10

I had a game on 18 or 19 where the Rockies hit Baez. I then missed with a pitch and hit someone, I don't remember who it was. I hit Arenado to get back at them for the Baez plunk. Warnings were issued. They then hit me again, and I was actually kind of excited to see a CPU player get ejected, but it didn't happen.

It was only one time so idk for sure but it could be that ejections are only for user-controlled players.

In past versions you’d sometimes get a batter ejected for arguing an out call at first base. Don’t recall seeing it in recent years though.

                        Hey Armor,

What's your pitching approach? Do you throw the suggested pitch and location suggested by the catcher?

Also, do you have any hitting tips? Lol. I've started a couple different seasons. I'll start off hitting around 290. But then suddenly I can hit nothing. I'm talking a few straight games with less than 5 hits. I know it happens in real life but it really feels like I just lose the eye that I had earlier in the season. How can i reset it?

I've tried custom practice, but they frustrate me so much. I'm working on my timing and they just keep throwing unhittable pitches out of the zone lol

FYI to be specific, it is the timing that is off. I'm either late or early, A LOT!

I made some adjustments and add a separate Durability/Dice roll scale and result for Bacon’s Fictional Roster.

The severity dice rolls are the same. But the dice roll to determine the injury’s have been modified based on his universally lower durability on his roster.

                          Enjoy!!

All that information is right on Post #1 my friend.

Getting a hitting camera you are comfortable with is the first step. Pitch recognition is the next step. Being able to sit on pitches is the key to hitting....period. So you have to be looking for a pitch and know what location you want. If your guessing you will fail.....a lot.

So learn to sit on pitches as well as understanding count leverage and what to look for. And sometimes it takes several innings to pick up on your opposing pitchers habits, and what pitches are working for him and vice a versa.
