Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

My Phillies team has started the season on fire with a 44-9 record giving them a 10 game lead over the Braves.

Bryce Harper is a monster and is batting .332 with 29 HR and 60 RBI.

It’s not like I’ve been blowing out the CPU every game, either. I’ve been lucky to have won some close games this month as you can see from my calendar.

I’ve been over the moon with Alec Bohm’s bat. He’s hitting over .300 with 6 home runs since being called up. He’s definitely going to be manning the hot corner for years to come if he can keep it up.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

Ever since I've played this game I've been curious about the following; what exactly changes when you move a slider? For example, when I move the power slider it has a description about how it affects home runs and extra base hits to a lesser degree. I get that and it makes sense, at least to some degree, but what EXACTLY changes? I'd really like to believe it's simple, maybe one click is a 10% loss in each hitter's power rating, 2 clicks is 20% and so on and so fourth. However, this is pure speculation.

I often wonder when moving sliders around if its affecting things that I just don't realize. If I knew for sure that lowering power (for example) simply lowered each of my players' power attribute a few points that would give me a lot more peace about moving sliders around.

However, I've never seen, straight from a developer, what exactly slider changes do.

Got it. Thank you. Thought I was missing something. I read the in game pitching instructions today for the first time after playing the game for many years because I was struggling so bad this year . It helped. Feels so much more difficult this year compared to years past

It changes the RDR (random dice roll).

I'm not doubting this but has it ever been specifically discussed by the developers?

I'm thinking about maybe a drop to 4 in both power and contact. I already have timing at 4. I all but refuse to play on Legend hitting because my win/loss record is still very believable for me.

Dude I told you this on April 10th in my reply to one of ur posts lol I'm using Contact 4 , power 3 , solid hits 3 now ( but try 4 first ) and timing 4 and finally getting the results i should be getting with my squad of players . I still have games where I mash 3 home runs and variety is there without any issues ! These settings don't break the game , physics of the game or anything of that matter . I actually have to work for a home run like it should be and is in real life for a player . I shouldn't be mashing bombs non stop when simply just trying to get a single down the middle or to the right side using contact swing or normal swing . I'm over 30 games with these settings in my Jays chise and having realistic and amazing results . I also have CPU Pitch control on 6 with CPU Pitch Consistency 7 and CPU strike Frequency 4 , it's a beautiful combo that's been working great for me . Now you see the difference between elite and average pitchers , just actually try this for a few games and see how it goes , you have nothing to lose . Clearly your not truly happy with the way things are going for you overall cus every other day ur questioning things and wondering what you should change .

I know Armor has warm up pitchers set to “on” (as do many of us) to allow the guys the ability to throw the 8 pitches from the mound when you bring them into the game, but do you guys think this is beneficial?

As in, does it actually increase the pitcher’s confidence in the pitches you throw for strikes? I wouldn’t say it’s getting monotonous for me, someone who’s been doing it for only a little while, but I’m curious as to if it actually has an effect on how the RP performs in game.

I'll say this....I tend to blow leads big time when I get lazy and don't do the warm-up pitches.

Gives me a chance to throw a few different pitches and get a feel for them also and like Josh I’ve blown some leads when I don’t do it.

"Dude," I'm perfectly happy playing this game this year. But I'm always willing to consider a change or two that might make it even better. Either way, I am having more fun with The Show this year that I have in a long time. I'm not sure why you feel the need for an aggressively toned post, but you just be you.

It does...but it also can clue you in to what pitches he has working better than others.....or if he simply will not have it. But with the 3 batter minimum sometimes your stuck depending when you bring him in.

But yes.....it absolutely allows you to build confidence in pitches in warm ups.

Is it true that the cpu doesn’t put their pitchers to ready and waiting which tires them out faster? Do we have to switch teams and to this for them?

Lol aggressively toned post ? Lord how Sensitive ppl have become , but anyways all i was trying to do is help out and simply tell u to go for it and make a change cus it seems like you have been contemplating making some sort of a change for a while now but seem unsure and just undecided or scared . If you go thru the older posts ur kinda all over the place with thinking ur hitting too well but ur happy , then your wondering about making changes but ur happy lol
So all im saying is just try out the changes that you have been clearly thinking about and see what happens . And try to relax , no one's being aggressive here
