Keep at it - increasing pitch speeds is wonderful.

Hitting is the hardest thing to do in sports.

I know it's a video game, but when you do have success at the plate it's so rewarding.

I am on this train also and feel just like you in that it is so much more realistic at higher pitch speeds. I have been going 10/10. As the Yankees, 5 games now and I have not managed more than 1 run per game and 4 hits or less in those 5 games. I switched to the Padres for 2 games and pounded out 16 runs and 26 hits in those 2 games. I am going to keep going as I like the feel and focus it takes to hit this way.

I feel like it is in my head now that I can not hit with the Yanks but I am going to keep plugging along until Boston Rob releases his final set this weekend and hopefully everything evens out. Good luck everyone

I’ve never had success with higher pitch speeds but this discussion has me intrigued. Think I’m going to join the club and give it a try for a handful of games.

It is more realistic in my opinion. I’ve been trying 10/10 all morning (again), and I think it is a bit too much for me. I think I’m going with 9/9 to start my franchise. Maybe I can move up to 10-10 in a few weeks

I dont know if this is true but from what I heard it's updated 40 man rosters.

I'm hoping Armour can expand on this, because I downloaded it and I know we cant have everything perfectly but some rosters (Red Sox was a big one I noticed) have like 5-10+ 1 overall 99 potential Joe Random's on them. I figure that the cpu will cut these automatically (or I guess I could go in and cut them), but it could really throw off the minor league aspect of the game, but not sure if it'll just autocorrent via cuts and such

Yes 40 man will be complete. If you want full minors it will take just a little effort on your part to update those prospect placeholders.

I think I have to drop down to pitch speeds to 8/8. I just can’t generate any offence with either the Phillies or Yankees with them any higher. I am still late or completely miss fastballs at a normal rate and still have to really focus when I’m at bat and it is still a real challenge for me. I certainly don’t think I’m “cheating” with them at 8/8. It’s much more of a challenge for me then what 6/5 was.

I guess I’ll wait for BostonRob to release his 2.0 set to begin my franchises

Definitely not cheating. It is personal preference regarding pitch speeds so whatever works for you is best. I may do the same if things do not change in the next week.

As far as the roster goes Armor and Mojo answered it perfectly . Enjoy!

Maybe keep them at 9/9 and adjust your timing slider? I think I have mine at 6 just to compensate for my old eyes.
Just finished my first game with pitch speeds at 9/9 and was pleasantly surprised with myself. In a game using Bacon’s fictional rosters I beat the Mariners as the Royals 4-2. I didn’t hit the cover off the ball but I did have 10 hits (9 singles and 1 double) including a few bloopers and slow rollers that just snuck through the infield. Definitely need some work on recognizing pitches but I feel in time it will only get better. One thing I really like about higher pitch speeds is actually feeling the difference between a low 90mph fastball vs. a 97-100mph fastball. I use fisheye 2 batting cam but I may try some others to see if it helps.

Just a quick note for those of us looking to start a 2023 roster.

I am currently going through and doing some re-ratings as well as making sure I include more prospects (They'll have names and will be somewhat close but not that detailed).

Felt like for the realism I'd rather not have things like Whitlock be a 93 overall, Means and David Price both be 88's. Also did a lot of rerating of prospects (don't feel like a Bobby Whitt is an 85 overall yet either and Julio Rodriguez isn't a 90 yet). I will post a full list of certain players who I rerate as I go. I'm hoping to have this done by the end of the day today or sometime tomorrow (currently anticipating a massive storm hitting so hoping if my power doesn't go out I'll have nothing better to do).

I honestly was hoping that 23 would be better but it won't be. I personally (like an idiot), was hoping to start a long term franchise this year, so I want these rosters to be good to set me up down the line.

Hopefully one or two people will be interested in this

Awesome stuff. I am also going to comb thru them for equipment edits and as well as ratings.
