You are the pitcher. Make your own call. Also, don't be afraid to throw a different type of pitch than the catcher calls for. I only follow the catchers pitch type like 85% of the time. The key to pitching is changing type, location and speed / break. Also, don't be afraid to throw outside the zone, they'll chase and if they don't a walk isn't the end of the world.

Armor, I read over your clean-screen pitching tutorial, and I have two questions (forgive me if I've missed the obvious):
1) How do you tell if your pitcher wants the pitch high or low without using R2?
2) How do you tell if the pitcher wants it in or out of the zone without using R2?
I seem to remember the catcher having some kind of way of signaling this, but it's been 2 years since I've really played The Show and I can't recall.
Thanks!
And it's the Miami Marlins for me this go 'round!
What you’re looking at in settings though is called API, you can turn it on and off. I’m not infront of the game but I’m pretty sure it’s “API”
It’s 3 letters. I know that lol

No, it's API , adaptive pitching intelligence. The glove on screen that shows you where the catcher wants the ball thrown.YouTube: MLB The Show 21 Atlanta Braves FranchiseComment

But right now if you have the pre-camera on the glove doesn’t show after you select the pitch.Follow me on Twitch

Yes, that is correct. I'm just saying for the people that like to go by what the catcher calls, that is apparently a bug issue right now.Follow me on Twitch

I think you are on to something here. I am hitting 5 HRs/game as Yanks and 4/game with Brewers on HOF/10 speed. Both are power hitting teams but this is a lot. I agree I think it is because of meatballs. When CPU hits HRs, it usually is from a bad pitch. But the crack of the bat is oh so sweet...

I’m going to try legend with directional hitting. I let you know how it goes lol.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I've got a big tip for anyone struggling with hitting. I do a lot of moving around between college dorms/apartments and coming home to each of my parents houses, so I've played in multiple different places on multiple setups. I would always do better on some setups and on others it seemed like I forgot how to hit.
I never thought too much about why this was but I finally had an epiphany and figured it out. Making sure the strike zone is at or above, not below, eye level makes a HUGE difference for me in my hitting ability. When the box is below my eye level I am chasing everything and rarely take walks. I always hit my best at my college apartment where my TV is mounted and angled slightly down and I am sitting in a desk chair in front/below it.
If you are having problems hitting and having a good eye at the plate, and you are sitting in a position where your eyes are above the zone, try it!Comment

I set the high-leverage camera to trigger only when I am batting to counter this.Comment

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I have always been terrible at chasing low pitches... sinkers, splitters, curves... but when it's a low fastball, I lay off because it looks low and is actually a strike... maybe I'll try a different camera.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Do you guys make other teams make more realistic offers to free agents in the offseason? It seems like one of the issues is that guys just aren't getting those $200-$300 million deals like they do in real life. But using 30-team control and making more lucrative offers seems like a logical fix.Comment

Will also effect your hitting. But I've said for years if your struggling to hit, camera should be your first tweak.
