May be a small thing, but what I really miss in this year’s game is the reminder that you have already had one mound visit in an inning. I have been burned a few times when I visit the mound, only to forget that I already have that inning and then have to replace my pitcher - even if my guys in the bullpen aren’t ready yet. Grrrr

Royals Lose to the white sox on a walk off gran slam 8-6 Grandal hit 2 homers and 7 RBIs in this game was a strange game.. white sox got on top early 4-1 then didn't have a baserunner for 6 innings! and were behind 6-4 going into bottom of the 9th. Derek Holland completely choked and imploded in the 9th innings blowing it.

day game as well. I dunno if that means it was Rust I had in no offence on opening day but I really am getting lots of offence on day 2.

in another game Detroit beat Indians 5-3 the turning point Indians up 3-2 bases loaded 0 out. couldn't score a run. next innings Manzza hits a 2 run homer and Detroit never look back and win

Our Bacon Marlins Franchise finally lifted off last night!!!

Opening day loss to the Phillies, but an amazing nail biting game!!

This is going to be an epic chise. And it will be every pitch, every inning.

Yankees Year 5 also continues today as we are going to already be closing out the month of April and we will have a full league and team April wrap up on the new wire.

Yo Armor,

I have been testing 8/8 with hook at 3. I like it. The biggest difference has been my pitcher stamina. Previously my starting pitchers with medium stamina were struggling to get through 5 innings. Also, a lot of my relievers were running out of gas before finishing an inning

Those things still happen, but IMO at a much more realistic rate

I am loving the new move to the 8/8.

I just got my PS5 today so I am excited to plug in the Show on the new PS5. I had the original PS4 so I can't wait to see the upgrade.

But I have a question, I got the bundle from Game Stop and it came with NBA 2K21 and Spiderman. My last basketball game was 2K18 and I hardly play it cause I just play the Show. Has anyone played the NBA 2K21 on the PS5? If so, how is it? Is it worth it? It isn't opened so debating on trying to just sell it or try to be dishonest and return it to Walmart without a receipt and get a store credit. I don't know anyone over there in the NBA side on here so I don't know where to begin looking.

can you tell me what improvements it makes to the CPU pitching>? that has always been my gripe right now! so I am excited to see what has changed..

will it not keep relief pitching in to long having that raised and the hook down ? I can see the starter hook being perfect with that setting but relief just wondering!

No it won’t. It really has been a revelation and Warm Wind deserves the credit for the 8/8 change

I found the hook down to 3 to be the icing on the cake. You will see far better CPU decision making and your own pitchers will not nearly be as gassed so quick. There were times that I had receivers with almost full energy getting too tired far too quick. It really annoyed me.

This change brings balance to force.

Trust me it is playing like a dream. A huge change....but not only is it working on 20 but it is working like a dream on 17 18 and 19 as well.

Just a great change!!!

I don't have any knowledge or testing on the hook, so I'll defer to Armor for that, but the stamina increase I can explain.

The issue stems from effective pitches, or the number of pitches a pitcher can throw before they start to lose accuracy or movement. There is variance from one game to another, but this point is generally predictable given a particular stamina slider setting and pitcher stamina attribute.

When the CPU considers bullpen management, this point is one of the most important factors. In my testing, the CPU seemed obsessed with maintaining the effective pitches available in their bullpen, to the point where they would rather keep a guy in to get hammered and continually use 1 tired guy as opposed to trying to actually win.

Raising pitching staminas only raises total pitches before reaching a "tired" state by a small amount. However it raises the number of effective pitches a pitcher can throw by a significant amount. This opened up the CPUs willingness to properly utilize their bullpen, as they have so many more effective pitches to play with while and it ceases to be the main concern.

I suspect this is an issue that is caused by the fact that the base game is balanced for online play. Thankfully we have sliders to correct these things, though it is unfortunate that we have to do extensive testing to figure these things out. Still, that's what the slider makers are here for, and I'm happy to help out however I'm able.

Great explanation this might explain why there is so much talk of 'comeback codes' I have seen myself after a few days into a season notice RP to be more terrible and more better on day 1.

Maybe a dumb question but what happens if your game is accidentally shut off (by my daughter) in the middle of a game? Does it just affect that game if you are forced to start over? Does it have an affect on your entire season? I was losing the game 3 - 0 and had the feeling I was going to lose. But my daughter came down stairs and accidentally stepped on my power bar shutting off the ps4. Now I’m thinking that if I simply replay that game and win, I somehow changed how the rest of my season plays out. What would you do? Part of me thinks my season has been ruined
