Well I played two games with the newest set. Not sure if you’d like to know how I felt about them. Sometimes it’s more about the feel than the statistical outcome early on for me with a slider set.

Why wouldn’t josh like to know how you felt about his sliders?

Only one game so far, but it was definitely on the other end of the spectrum of my previous low scoring games, perhaps too much.

As the Mariners at home I lost to the Angels 7-10.

The Angels hit 3 homers and 3 doubles with 16 hits.

Mariners hit 4 homers (3 in one inning) and 2 doubles with 12 hits.

We shall see how these play over the course of a few games.

Game was played on AS+ for both pitching and batting. I use pulse pitching since I can’t stand classic pitching.

I played the first game with the Cubs in my franchise using the Brinskie rosters. I won the game 5-4. The pirates jumped to a 3-0 lead against Hendricks after giving up 2HR but he settled in and went 6 IP allowing 3 runs. Cubs came back to tie it at 3 with a couple singles and a sac fly. Cubs took the lead in the 5th and scored a important insurance run in the 7th to win 5-4. The CPU hit 3 HR with 9 hits. Cubs had 9 hits with 8 singles.

It was nice knowing that I can score some runs and come back from a 3-0 deficit. Before, that 3-0 seemed like 15-0. I was afraid of their offense for the first time in a while after giving up the 2 homers in the 2nd inning.

There has been some solid feedback; I've been dabbling strictly on AS as if we can get a solid base on that difficulty, then it should scale to AS+.

Right now, I'm very iffy on contact being the long-term answer. Even on AS, the foul ball frequency went up a fair bit and some of offensive numbers on AS+ are not quite what I want to see. We could bump down FF, but rule number 1 of good slider design says that "you don't make another change to fix something you broke - you revert and try something different".

I think we're going to have to make a more subtle change and just roll with it.

I’m sure josh would want to try himself, but on all star plus I put every cpu slider at 5 except for cpu timing, I put that at 6, and I threw a one hitter with Dylan Bundy lol

That's the only remaining logical solution.

It's still a question of which permutation to pursue for the remaining settings (i.e. my "typical" setup or something a touch different).

On all star plus I had it on 6 and it felt honestly about the same. I wonder if putting cpu timing on 7 is pushing it. Putting any hitting slider on 7 seems so ridiculous to me but I don’t know at this point.

That’s so true lol. I work a ton over the weekend past Memorial Day but I’ll be testing 7 myself. I hate how HOF feels for some reason so that’s a no go.

I wish I was one of those people that could just play a game.

So far......Josh's set logic has given me better results on the pitching side. Small sample size I just played one game at lunch today, but the CPU put up 6 on me with my average SP. It's still playing a little wonky but the result was at least a little more realistic.

Were your user/CPU sliders aligned? I've seen (in the past) situations where you don't get the "full effect" if you only adjust one of the two sliders.

The one game I played on these felt good. I'm using the Cubs so I don't expect to have an over-dominant pitching staff. I use quick counts so I didn't notice the foul balls. The CPU had 9 hits and struck out 7 times. It was nice to see the CPU get more than 5-6 hits. So I'm excited to play more games with it to see if it will work for me.
