I had read something that you needed to choose an influence every swing and didn’t think that was the case.

No if I’m in a 3-2 count or a pitchers count I’ll simply press X. I never use contact swing, or power swing either really

Rmiok222 All Star PLUS MLB The Show 21 Sliders

Just SMACKED the white Sox. I hit 6 HRs and we won 12-4. Andrew Heaney started pretty rough but ended up doing okay.

Fletcher, Walsh (2), trout, upton, and rendon all had homeruns. My stars really shined bright in this game. We are off to a great start in getting mike trout his ring, hopefully.

Dylan Bundy takes the mound tomorrow and ohtani will pitch vs keuchel in the last game of the series. I have ohtani 3rd in the rotation by design because keuchel is a lefty and I wanted to give Shohei the day off from hitting that day since he’s below average against lefties anyways. Managing ohtani’s stamina is going to be a serious task this series. If I just ignore it will be completely exhausted very quickly.

Anyway, fun start. I love this offense! Pitching makes me nervous though but we are working on repairing that part of our team.

How are you managing Ohtani?

Well my plan is to rest him completely against lefties and not have him hit when he pitches.

Hoping we can get by on offense one every 5 days without him.

I have never used Ohtani. So when he is on DH does he have full energy when he pitches?

Yes I made this on all star plus. You can try them on all star though I’m sure it’ll work just fine

Also my personal preference is to use 6/6 pitch speed

I have never used Ohtani. So when he is on DH does he have full energy when he pitches?

No he is not! I noticed that yesterday actually. He DH’ed my spring training game before and was slightly fatigued next game for his start

So I wonder if he would have more energy if you rest him the day before and after his start. Too bad you couldn’t have him hit when he pitches.

He’s just so hard to keep out of the lineup. 78 contact 93 power with 84 speed!

Rmiok222 All Star PLUS MLB The Show 21 Sliders

2nd game of this series was completely different. Chicago jumped out early and never gave me the lead. I lost 5-2, was held to 5 hits and one homer. We had a huge chance in the 8th with the bases loaded and I struck out with Justin upton to end the inning.

My starting pitching has let me down both games so far. I have ohtani on the bump next. He’s my best pitcher rating wise but for whatever reason in spring training I really have struggled with him. Hoping for the best as we try to take this series win next time out

I just wanted to know your thoughts and reasoning of pitch consistency at 6. Josh puts control at 6. I was wondering what the difference is.

Josh has since moved to all default sliders so now control has been at 5

Something has definitely changed with directional hitting this year. I just can’t seem to barrel anything up. Work the count in my favor, get a pitch down the middle to hit and it’s either fouled straight back, or a weak fly ball.

Not saying I want everything to be a hit, but it would at least feel nice to make some decent contact. I am seriously considering trying zone hitting for the first time.
