    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

    Mets 2 11 0
    Giants 1 7 0

    12 innings

Degrom got a no decision after pitching 7 innings and striking out 10.
This was 12 inning pitchers duel with both teams getting out of jam after jam. I left 16 runners on base and the Giants left 12.

Bottom of the 12th the tying run and winning runs are on base with one out but Diaz gets out of it.

18 hits over 12 innings and zero home runs. Power slider at 3 is definitely producing games where nothing leaves the park.

Another tough intense playoff like game.

Not sure if Steve wants me to tell everyone he hits on Rookie+. LOL
I'm locked into Veteran+ hitting and All-Star+ pitching, but I'm starting to decimate the computer so I'm going to pump the dynamic difficulty slider back up a few notches to see if I can get back to a more even playing ground.

Quick question on injuries, I pumped up the slider as suggested in the thread because the injuries were few and far between, now Im seeing a bunch more especially in sim games.

How do you manage these injuries for the other teams? For AA and AAA teams, I just click Auto and let the CPU sort it out.

For the MLB teams, I like to keep all 30 rosters/lineups/rotations set as accurately as I can, does clicking Auto re-jigger the lineups for the MLB teams?

I haven't tried it, I have been doing it manually and it can get daunting when there's 6 or 7 injuries to manage after simming 1 day on the calendar.

I have it set where I manage the CPU injuries to mlb only. So when I sim, I only get pop ups for mlb injuries. I read in the general forums that there is a bug that teams are adding someone to the 40 man roster when someone goes on the DL and the put someone on waivers. So now I just manage it for them.

Sometimes there are a lot of injuries. I’ll get about 3-5 injury notices per calendar day.

If you set the lineups to auto, it will change the lineups on their own.

Is there anyone who is trying power at 2/2 in both actual play and sim? I’m giving it a shot and feel it just fine. I usually see a couple of HRs for both teams if not in every game. In sim games, I rarely see games without any HRs, which is maybe OK. But I’m still wondering if I should stick with 3/3. What do you think?
(FYI, my Difficulty settling is legend for both hitting and pitching with timing hitting and classic pitching).

That is a good question. I have tried power at 2 for a couple of games but not much. I pretty much hit a HR every game with 3. The CPU has a couple of games without a HR at 3. More than I get. I am trying to cut down on my HR as well. I would make sure that we still see extra base hits and it’s not just all weak contact. The few games I played it seems like we have a little bit more bloop hits.

That is a good test for simming. I haven’t tried that for simming. I went through a week’s worth of real life MLB games and there were about 15-20% of games with no HR by either team. About 2-3 games per day. I haven’t tried that for simming but I will. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think I will try the slider at 2/2 for some games. You can switch back and forth between the two.

When I start my next series I will play that series on the lower power setting.

                      Game 1

                      Phillies 6 12 0
                      Mets 9 14 1

                      Game 2

                      Phillies 6 12 0
                      Mets 4 13 0

The first 2 games of my series with the Phillies.

In game 1 Scherzer got the win but only lasted 5 innings giving up 4 runs.

In game 2 the top 2 hitters in the Phillies lineup killed me. Segura the leadoff hitter went 4 for 5 with 2 RS and 1 RBI and Hoskins was 3 for 5 with 3 RS and 3 RBI's. I could not get them out.

I am using 5/3/5 for game 1.. 6/3/5 for game 2 and 6/3/6 for game 3 for this series. So there is a real chance I may get beaten in Game 3 an dl lose the series. Progressing the slider difficulty as the series goes on seems to be the solution to making it more competitive. If you have a really good teams like the Mets you have to keep the pressure on your pitchers to make good pitches.

I would encourage people to try slider progression through your series to see the results.

Yeah man. The CPU is hitting better now. My era is still low but it is rising higher and higher.

Even when I get a lead the CPU doesn't stop hitting.

I’m not sure if sliders matter in sims other than stamina, hook, and injuries. But I could be wrong.

Having tried a bunch of games with power at 2/2 in sims, I feel it doesn’t matter. I found Leury Garcia, who hit 5 HRs in 2021, hit 4 HRs in the first 8 games, which could still happen but way unrealistic.

Thanks for confirming. I was going to do a test franchise with power maxed at 10 and see what the home run totals were at the end of the year.
