    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

Just one question regarding these sliders. About to try them out, but noticed you have 5 or 0 for infield errors and 5 or 1 for outfield errors. What would you recommend as this is a big jump either way. I’m assuming with the lower fielder speed and reaction, it might be better to go with the 0 and 1 option rather than keep at 5 for errors?

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on those sliders in particular.

    Thanks !

      Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

      Mets 1 3 0
      Dodgers 2 5 0
      10 innings

Game 3 of a 4 game road series

This game was a pitchers duel. My bats couldn't get going. My run came on a solo HR by Escobar. Carrasco pitched 6.1 innings and gave up one run.

8 total hits in the game with one homer one double and the rest singles. Outside of the HR the ball didn't carry much.

The Dodgers have taken 2 of the first 3 games. They are matching me pitch for pitch. I am in danger of losing this series.

Thanks for trying these out. We hope you enjoy them and would love to hear your feedback.

I know the 5 or default on these are the norm. And 0 does look crazy. Cause there isn’t enough errors in the game in our opinion. But at 5, we were seeing too many infielders dive for the ball and it bounces out of the glove for an infield hit too many times. Not enough diving plays that the infielder caught and got an out. At 0, the infielders would get to more of them. Outfielders would bobble the bounces too many times on a hit in front of them. With the errors lower, they get those balls clean more often. That also affects something like trying to get the runner maybe trying to score or take an extra base.

And some of the errors we see in the game anyways, are scored as base hits.

Right now, I am playing on infield errors at 2 and outfield errors at 1.

So it is your preference on what you like to see.

yeah I have seen some inconsistency with some errors not being called that should have been.. I actually blew a 3-0 game in the 9th when I had a error for the 3rd out ended up losing 5-4 from the ghostrunner I like the errors on 0 really puts the best fielders ahead of the bad ones. you see lots of Bobbles and drops too and somtimes they can still recover from it.

I had one awesome moment. where Ohtani almost hit his first homer for the year (he is having a terrible start in my franchise hitting 120) Tucker for the astros jumped up didn't catch it saved a homer. bounced off his glove. ended up being a triple. but in past games you would have seen that either as a out or a homer.

Thanks! I went with the same settings as you mentioned. Have played one game but already like the feel of the game. On previous sliders, my offence was too good and I was getting 15+ hit games regularly with my lineup. Decided to give these a try.

Beat the Rays 3-0. I had 4 hits compared to their 7. In the first inning, Rasmussen took a while to get settled. Bo and Vlad walked followed by a Gurriel Jr 3-run homer off a hanging slider. That would be all of the offence. Only managed 3 hits after that but drew a good share of walks.

Kikuchi was my starter. He went 5.1 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 walk and struck out 5. Got into trouble with a couple of men on in a few innings but pitched out of it every time. The bullpen held the lead. Garcia finished the 6th with Mayza giving a couple of hits in the 7th while recording 2 outs. Cimber came in finish the 7th and pitched a nice 8th. Romano finished it.

Overall was good. Took advantage early but then got stifled by the Rays pitching. Had to pitch out of many jams. Saw some good defence. All in all good first game and will see how they play out over the next month!

I have seen that too. It is awesome to see. I wonder if they would ever catch it back on the reflection for the out.

Glad to see that. It is nice to see the CPU have a lot of threats and leave a lot on base. We are testing user timing at 3 as well. It seems like we are seeing too many HR on our side. Played about 10 games so far between me and Steve and we like what we see. Not wanting to make it official yet but if you want to try it out you can.

I see you have a Cubs avatar on your profile. Why don't you use the Cubs? Is it because you feel like you would jinx them. I know that people sometimes don't like to use their favorte team.

I don’t know. I have tried before and I like playing in Wrigley Field but their roster isn’t really exciting. They don’t have really anybody that would make it fun for me. Like the Mariners, I have Kelenic and Rodriguez, Gilbert in the majors. Kirby is making his debut the next game. And I have Marte waiting in the wings for next season. I am actually considering starting a 2nd team in the NL to see those parks and was considering the Cardinals. They have Gorman and Liberatore coming up.

I can understand it. As long you have something exciting to look forward to the game will be exciting. That makes sense to me.

When I finish my 162 game season with the Mets I will not be playing with them anymore until MLB 2023 comes out.

I am thinking of playing another 162 with the Rays or Marlins since I live in Florida. I am leaning towards the Rays because they are in the AL and just like you I want to experience the other league.

The Rays would be fun. Especially if you have a PS5 and you can put them in a created stadium. I used that when I played them in Tampa. Found a created stadium called Publix Park. Which is pretty cool cause they could actually be a sponsor for a stadium down there in Florida.

                            Mets 1 8 0
                            Padres 2 5 1

Game 1 of 3 game series. This is the toughest loss I have taken so far this season.

I had a 1-0 lead in the 6th inning with Scherzer on the mound in full control.
Then out of nowhere I gave up back to back homer on consecutive pitches. The 1 and 2 hitters Cronenberg and Grisham hit homers on me. That is the first time that has happened all season long. Outside of that the Padres did NOTHING ALL GAME LONG.

                            Very tough loss.

I am currently 43-19 with a 9 game lead but I am 5-5 in my last 10 games so the season is getting tougher for me. The Mets are at the hard part in their schedule.

Funny you mention Publix. There is a Publix not that far from where they play in Downtown St Petersburg. They are called Tampa but actually play across the water in St Pete. Whenever I visit St Petersburg I always check out that area Downtown. I plan on going down there later this Summer to check out some games.

The Rays are a team that people sleep on in the game. Good speed and defense. The only downside is that play in a domed stadium but I can look over that.

How’s everyone in this thread feeling about the sliders after the most recent update?
