I have. It's still entirely too easy, imo. I did that all of last year and to start this year and finally had to switch. If I nibbled really hard, maybe I'd get some walks, but then I'd almost never miss over the plate and the CPU offense would struggle. You have to jack up contact, solid hits, and power to make the CPU a little bit of a threat, and even then it's hit or miss. It's still some weak contact, and then a lot of really hard contact, and very little in between. Pinpoint is just way too effective if you want something resembling realistic baseball.

What are you using now? Classic? With any slider adjustments ?

Yes, I switched to Classic and I use these sliders. Bad control pitchers can be tough to use, as they should be.

I am playing a couple different franchises. I started a Mariners franchise over and am 8-8. Just lost 2 out of 3 against the Astros. Won 5-3, lost 7-3, and lost 8-6 in 11 innings.

I moved up to Allstar hitting with these sliders. Veteran was too easy and was trying to tone down the sliders to compensate.

The game is playing great. I think the last patch made the broadcast team a little better.

MLB 23 is going to be a must buy. Especially with the new schedules and playoff format. The new schedules will really improve the game for people that play multiple seasons.

For those that are still struggling to find the cpu offense, please give these a try for about 5-10 games. I know you think going to Allstar from HOF is going to make it even worse but it makes it better. It is crazy but it works.

I agree with you on the commentary being much better since the patch. At the beginning of the season, it was HORRIBLE, so that's how I've noticed the upgrade now. As far as '23, if they add franchise features that we have asked for over the past few years, it will rival NBA 2K as far as the best franchise experience. The gameplay immersion is really good right now, and it makes the game have replay ability but without immersion and depth and customization it will stay on the same path as Madden.

Any reason this slider set is a must versus armors? I just strive for the most realism possible.

I know Armor is a great and one of the best slider makers on here. But him and a lot of his followers have turned MLB 22 off and went back to MLB 20. I don’t think anyone posts on his 22 thread anymore so I’m not sure how many people still use his sliders for 22. I figure his works good.

Our sliders have been tested and used all year and Steve and I track our stats for fun and to make sure the game is balanced. We do not want a home run fest. We make sure the CPU is getting enough hits and runs to make them dangerous.

I know some of our numbers look crazy compared to his. His is more default based. But every number is there for a reason that makes the game for us.

If you check our sliders out, we would love to see your updates and feedback.

Pretty late in the cycle, so take it or leave it at this point, but in regards to sim stats, I noticed something weird. Even though the league averages for batting average, on base percentage, and slugging percentage seem within reason for me 40-45 games into my second season, runs/era are both about half a run low. Thought that was weird and I think I found the culprit. Teams are attempting a crazy amount of steals.

In the real MLB, the Rangers attempted the most stolen bases this year, stealing 128 out of 169 attempts (that's 1.04 attempts per game). They led in both success and caught steals. League average was 0.68 attempts a game.

But I've got some crazy stolen base numbers. The Yankees are 51 for 73 in 44 games (that's 1.66 attempts per game). The Guardians are 50 for 67 in 45 games (1.49). Excluding me (I play or Quick Manage my games, so sliders don't impact frequency for me), the league is averaging right about 1 attempt per game.

So I'm thinking that (success rates are way too low too, but that's because I had for some reason also lowered Base Steal ability in my sim sliders when I lowered it in my gameplay sliders) probably has something to do with it. Probably doesn't account for all of it, though. Nonetheless, I'm personally knocking down steal frequency a notch or two when I'm simming.

Yeah we noticed the Steal numbers were sky high long ago when running sims. Unfortunately the Steal frequency and success slider do not have any effect on stolen base attempts in simulated games. Royals always led the league with an insane amount of stolen bases in our sims. Nothing we can do about it unfortunately. I tried steal rate at 0 and success at 0 and same amount of stolen bases.

No idea how SDS caused this. Hopefully we can have separate sliders for simulated games one day. Only certain sliders effect simulated games as is. We need all of them to effect simulated games in a separate section.

That's disappointing, since I figured the success rates being so low was because I had changed something. More Sim Sliders would be extremely welcome.

They also just need to update some of their systems for the modern game. Like their lineup management, it seems like some of the sim logic was set for the game ~10 years ago and didn't get updated as baseball evolved. Steals were a lot more frequent 10 years ago. The Padres attempted 1.2 steals per game in 2012 and league average was 0.9. But it's probably not really worth them changing, since Stolen Bases are likely to shoot up next year with the new rules (in AAA, there 1.2 attempts per game this year compared to 0.9 in 2019).

No I haven’t yet. Lately I been getting rocked. Had a couple 20 hit games by the cpu in the past week or so.

Threw a no hitter against the Blue Jays and gave up 20 hits to them the next game. Go figure.
