Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
I haven't played this game in months but I have some back to it now.
I will be playing this game as my sports game exclusively this year after 23 comes out.
These sliders are still completely perfect. I played a a few games and the action has the the timing that a real game has. It is amazing. The base running the throwing the field is all flawless in my opinion.
I cant wait for 23 to come out.
I am done with anything made by EA Sports and am sticking with The Show for 2023.
Instead of doing a Mets season I have decided to go with the Braves this season.Comment

The Braves are a blast to play with. I have a Braves franchise on my Switch and it is fun pitching with Strider and playing with Harris.
I am playing a Guardians franchise on the PS5 and they are fun as well. Probably won’t finish that season though before 23 comes out.
Am trying to finish the Braves franchise since I am in August. But wanting to do a Pirates franchise and do hitting only or something. But just don’t know if I can form the connection to the team by doing that.Follow me on Twitch

Glad to see that you are still on the grind here.
Hopefully the new game comes out in March this year.Comment

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
I downloaded the current rosters. I am going to start a Braves franchise and just play the games to give me something to do until 2023 comes out. Playing with the Braves will give me a chance to get familiar with them.
Glad to see that you are still on the grind here.

My Braves franchise we are in August and I’m a game back of the Phillies. At the trade deadline I traded for Ohtani. I knew it wasn’t probably realistic but I made the trade fair. But I wanted to at least play with Ohtani for once. He didn’t do too good for me. He went 4 starts and was 1-1 with a 5.50 ERA. Got hammered one game to inflate the ERA. Hitting, he hit .268 with 5 HR.
He hurt his elbow on his last start and is out for 1-2 months. So probably out for the rest of the regular season at least.Follow me on Twitch

Thanks. Welcome back. Love to hear updates on your Braves franchise. It gets boring in here this time of year.

Maybe Ohtani didn't like the Atlanta food. Lol
Glad to be back.Comment

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
4-3 so far with the season I am doing as a practice to learn the Braves roster.
The sliders are playing excellent better than what I expected. The game really plays like an actual simulation. You can't just easily score and shut down the computer. You have to actually earn your hits and the runs that you score. Pitching to batters is not a automatic out just because you have a good pitcher on the mound.
These sliders have balanced the game out where you must use skill to succeed.
I just beat the Reds 2-0 where both teams only had 4 hits. I only won because the Reds pitcher had a walk and a hit batter in the same inning and I was able to somehow score a couple runs.
Hopefully they don't mess with the gameplay too much in 23.Comment

Yankees
L 2-10
W 9-1
L 4-5
L 2-4
Cubs
W 4-1
L 1-9
W 8-4
You can really tell the difference in pitching staffs. Yankees I can strike hitters out to get out of jams. The Cubs staff doesn’t get a lot of K’s just like in real life.Follow me on Twitch

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
Latest result:
R H E
Reds 2 6 0
Atl 3 9 0
I hit 3 solo HR to win the game. That was my only offense. Albies hit 1 and Olson hit 2. My starter Wright struck out 3 and walked 2 batters. Once again another tough game where every single pitch meant something.Comment

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
The reason for the changes were pretty much contact at 7 gave us more hit variety. Had to lower timing to keep the strikeouts in check.

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
More slider feedback:
One thing I have noticed from the sliders is that this game is best played with the User pitcher control at zero or 1. That is what keeps your pitchers from having too much dominance over the batters. It basically makes it a baseball simulation instead of a video game.
When you combine it with the 8-5-5-8 hitting setup for the CPU then you have gameplay with consistent CPU offense each game. When using meter pitching it makes each and every batter a different experience. It requires more pitches per at bat to get the batter out as well.
To deal with the increase in pitches I increased the stamina for the starter to 9 to avoid the starter getting burned out too quickly. The increase in stamina does not really give you a competitive advantage. I have not even came close to getting a complete game yet. Your pitchers with low stamina still will not make it past the 5 or 6 inning.
This setup is working perfect for me right now. You really have to be on your game on the mound. You cannot spam the same pitch over and over again.
Sometimes I reduce the CPU solid hits to 7 if I feel that the batters have too much of an advantage.Last edited by HeadCoach2.0; 01-28-2023, 01:38 PM.Comment

Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders
Another thing I have noticed with the 8 5 5 8 set up is that the CPU is going to get back in the game. If you have a lead they are going to chip away at the lead.
I just played a game against the Padres where I was leading 4-1 headed into the bottom of the 9th. They opened up with 2 hits in a row and started coming back in the game. I had to fight to hold on to a 4-3 victory.
This is with the pitching on HOF and the dynamic difficulty off. I turned it off because I got tired of the error where it resets itself. When 23 comes out I will give it another try.
What I see is that you MUST stay down in the strike zone in the late innings with that set up. It really makes getting a win tougher. No lead is ever safe.
I haven't tried Legend mode yet with it I can imagine it will be hard to win.Comment
