I noticed something while playing with classic pitching. I was just messing around and had not turned all of the on screen visuals off yet, and noticed that on the pitcher feedback I was getting the early, just early, good, just late, and late. Started messing around with it and turned vibration back on. With vibration on I noticed that if I release just as the vibration started I was getting good feedback every time. If I was just ahead of the vibration or a little after I would get Just Early or Just Late accordingly. With this being said, I always assumed from reading these forums that The vibration meant Max Effort.. Now I am not so sure. It seems that the vibration is tied into the timing. I turned vibration off and continued to pitch and noticed that if I released the button at the same point of the pitchers delivery every time, then the pitch would go where I intended. If I was a little off, so was the pitch. I have also played a few games with meter pitching and it felt like my pitcher did not tire out as quickly. Could have been a fluke, could be something to it... Not trying to throw off anything here, because I have used Armor's sliders for years. Sometimes all year and sometimes as a base set for my own. Just throwing out some information on something I noticed about the game

The amount of classic pitching theories out there are vast and all pretty valid.
The “mystery” of classic pitching is what gives it….it’s RNG I strive for. Somedays my feel is on and I pitch great, somedays my feel is on but my pitchers stuff is off. Somedays my feel is off but my pitchers stuff overcomes my lack of feel that day.
This is why I play totally clean with no vibration.
Yes…..I am a lunatic…but this is how I get my pleasure out of the game.
I love no information. Just me, my catcher and the batter. Same with hitting.
But you could be right too but I choose willful blindness on any feedback the game gives me and turn all of that off.
But everyone plays the game the way “they” want and there is no right of wrong when it comes to video games.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
OP has been Updated to Beta Testing Version 2.0
Folks we have updated the OP to reflect the working set I am actively testing. I am not starting my proper Yankees Franchise until Ridin and his team drop their fully updated Full Minors roster which will have 100’s of equipment edits, missing players and faces all updated!!!
When I dig in for a 162 play every pitch franchise....I want the best possible roster to start with as I go years deep into my franchises as many of you know.
The working Beta set is great but we are testing things and I anticipate a Gold Version 1 in a few weeks. It will take me dozens of games to really lock them in.
I denoted in () with a +/- what I changed from the set that was on the OP previously.
So what did I change?
CPU/HUM Power 5 (from 4)
HUM Control is 4 (from 5)
Fielder Speed is 3 (from 4)
Stealing frequency is 5 (from 6)

I love not having that much control over my pitchers. I like throwing a cutter that comes too far over the plate and gets crushed because my dude just doesn't have it that day. If I'm effortlessly mowing down hitter after hitter with a 75 rated pitcher game after game, that doesn't excite me at ALL. I want to have to figure out HOW to try to get M Olsen out with a RHP with average stuff, without any extra help from the game. THAT'S what makes baseball great.JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

I see you decreased the fastball speed as well. I was going to do the same. Probably the best default pitch speeds I can remember. Everything is really close to default this year. Love it.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
I think I’ve phoned every store in Canada and no one has a ps5 in stock.
I hope that is correct. I have the worst case of start-over-itis as it is. I would hate to start a franchise on the ps4 and then have to start over again on the ps5 several months from nowYankees modern day

My understanding is as follows: you can start on PS4 and continue playing on the PS5 BUT you must play the PS4 version of the game on the PS5 to continue.
If you want to play the PS5 version, you must start a new franchise.

Re: Armor & Sword’s MLB The Show 22 Classic/Directional/Clean Screen Simulation Slide
So I have played my first 7 games on default and this is what I’m seeing.
I started out on fire with the hr ball hitting 20 in the first 4 games but in the last 3 I’ve only hit 2 hr. I also love pitch speed on default.
I agree with putting stolen bases to default the cpu has been running wild with there speed guys. It’s pretty much spot on.
With control on default I have had games where I have felt unhittable and I’ve had a few games where I’ve walked 6 guys. I love the fact that I’m 2nd in the league in k so far. As for stamina I get to 85-90 pitches before I get the alert that my guys are getting tired. The cpu hasn’t had pitcher go past 6 innings so far. It seems pretty good for how baseball is played today.
I am going to play the next 7-8 games with the test sliders and see if I feel a difference which I know I will since you always make the game better.
