Wait does it matter which spots the two worst RPs are in for the LR slots?

Side note I’m curious why putting the two worst RPs in the LR slots gets the best results with CPU bullpen usage.

I noticed that the fielder slider was moved back to default and I gotta admit that drew a red flag for me, especially since I felt that V-1 played so nice....what I witnessed was balls the cpu fielders had no business getting to, especially in foul territory, this is obviously a very easy fix as I will just lower the slider to 3 and the results should be what I'm looking for.

Also just wanted to mention that while I know the default for that particular slider is 5, it makes the animations look kind of funky to me, when playing on a lower speed setting it seems to me the running animations have time to "breath", this falls in with Madden when they use to have different speed settings and many (including myself) felt slow was the best setting as the animations were allowed to flow and didn't look so herky jerky.
Awesome feedback, thank you! I have to admit, I love the reaction at default as that really makes the infielders shine and some pretty smooth animations. But default fielder speed was not the same result. It does feel like the outfielders smother the field and makes the field smaller. In our testing, with the contact and timing slider at 10, the cpu was getting so many doubles so we used that to combat that. But I think we will go back to 3 and see what that does. Also, debating if power needs to go to 5 or stay at 4.

Put fielder speed at 3 and let us know how that feels. In testing, the CPU went crazy on us with hitting. But in my franchise, the CPU calmed down a little. So I think it will be fine to go back to 3.

Because the CPU puts the LR1 and LR2 guys in when they are losing in like the 5th or 6th inning. Almost like they’re mop up relievers. When they are winning, they’ll use the MRP guys in the 6th and 7th innings. And they’re SU1 in the 8th.

I'm new to the game after a few year break and have found the base sliders for All-Star have been working nicely for me through the first 4 games. Getting good varied results in my franchise. My question is to those who use these and also the creators, do these just seem to clean up some of the smaller issues with the base sliders? One thing I noticed is I seem to strike the computer out a bit much. Appreciate your work and I'm more than likely going to fire these up for the rest of my franchise. Also should I be using version 2.0? I assume so. Just wanted to be clear.

So I played the old sliders in RTTS still in AA level and it just felt very okay-ish, granted that was AA but it still felt very underwhelming, then last night I played 2 games in AA on the new sliders and man was it a lot of fun.

I had some really sharp pitches, some really good K's, gave up some hits in the first game, got out of a bad jam, my defense made a few good plays, got into some good counts and got a few good ground balls. Second game I got hit for 4 earned runs, gave up a homerun and a few doubles and defense dropped some much needed outs, all in all I was very impressed.

There is a lot of mixtures with the 2/2 in terms of pitching keeping in mind my OVR is only 62, but I had a blast with the walks, the differences in being able to hit my spots and just being downride bad and inconsistent, it was truly great fun and probably the most fun I have had since 2020, will be playing more over the next week and hopefully I will keep enjoying my experience.

I agree with the speed & I put cpu power at 5 it’s a lot better as they will crush it but it’s not op

Welcome to the show! Glad that you decided to try our sliders. You will want to use version 2 which we created to try and help with the strikeouts. Steve and I would get about 10-15 K per game easily. Just affected their offense too much as those would be rally killers. Now there are some people using version 1.1 that do not have that problem. Quick counts might not be helping us with that. Let us know if you have any questions. Glad to have you.

Good to see you can see the difference in version 2. We are actually using control 3 and consistency at 2. That might help a little. But I might test 2/2.

I will keep it on 2/2 for the time being, the HR I gave up was a middle of the plate fastball that isn't where I meant to put that, the double I gave up that scored 2 runs was a slider that just missed my spot and kept the ball hanging, and another homerun I gave up was also a missed change up that hung in the zone, the hits felt very "realistic" and not super crazy, so if this gets out of hand as I hit the Majors, I may make a change to 3-2 but for now, what I have seen is sharpness makes differences, and missing causes pain, and I am perfectly fine with that.

                      Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders

I have lowered fielder speed down to 4. 5 is just too fast and OF feels too small for my liking. 3 is probably too low for these sliders, so hopefully 4 is a nice sweet spot. I also raised reaction to 6 just to see how it played out.

And the cpu does need some more power from 4 IMO, so I am using cpu power at 6 right now to see how it goes. I have tested power at 6 before and loved that it gave me some wall scraper homeruns that I never seen before. The no doubters are homeruns with power at 3 so that doesn't even matter. If you toss a meatball pitch to get crushed, power at 6 vs 3 or 4 won't make any difference. I just want to see a homerun without the HR camera on occasion that aren't meatball pitches, and power at 6 has provided those.

To combat this I lowered cpu contact to 9. Timing is 10, and IMO is a must no matter what. Even HOF or Legend timing needs to be 10 to help lower their strikeouts. But Allstar is for us and by far preferred difficulty.

Feel free to try these changes if you want. I only have played a couple games with them so no idea how it will play out yet. One game I had 9k, one HR. And second game I had no homeruns by the cpu and only one strikeout believe it or not. This was Oakland and I was Houston pitching so I was pleasantly surprised.

About to play the series finale on the road vs Nationals. My Guardians are going for the sweep with Bieber vs Strasburg matchup.

Steve has been testing these out with fielder speed at 3 and the CPU is hitting way too many doubles. He did try fielder speed at 4 and reaction at 6 and it seemed better in the one game. So we’ll report back.

Well Bieber is absolute dog **** right now through 4 starts. Came in with a 1-1 record and over 5 era. This game he lasted only 1.1ip

                          CLE 10 13 0 (4BB 10K); 3 2B, HR
                          WAS 12 17 1 (0BB 10K); 4 2B, 4HR

I asked for power and I got it lol. Honestly I will say power at 6 gave them for sure one of those homeruns. Two would've been HR for sure at 4 or 5 power. And one HR would've been at 3.

Bieber couldn't locate to save his life. His final line was 1.1ip 8h 8er 0bb 1k SMH. I didn't have a LRP with any stamina due to Plesac having go start game two. So it was a bullpen day. I can't be upset at what my bullpen did. Only allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 7.2ip.

I nearly came back when I scored 8 in the 8th inning, capped by a pinch hit 3 run homerun by Mike Zunino. But they added another in the 9th and I just couldn't. Wasn't meant to be.

I'm gonna stick with power at 6 for a while and just track data and see how it looks after so long. I think it will be okay.

I really love that my ace SP Bieber can have such a bad start to the season like this. This game was horrendous for him and like that it can happen. I know at some point in the season he will be lights out for me. Hopefully by May cause both times I've pitched him him myself were not pretty.

I do like Fielder speed at 4 at least. 5 is a big no for me. I'll stay at 4 for a while as I got a good feel for it as of now. 3 is great but over time could allow too many doubles.

Cpu contact at 9 is good. 10 if you need more cpu offensive punch. I wouldn't drop to 8 unless you're really struggling over a lot of games consistently with a good team. At 8 the strikeouts are super high. At least when we tested it with timing at 10 before it was for us.

Use these as a solid base for your own set of personal sliders though. Everyone has their own play style and skill level. What we post are merely suggestions that work for us. Thanks for everyone's feedback! It really helps a lot.

No, we did not take it that way at all. We appreciate the feedback. Gives us more eyes. We all can “feel” and “see” if something doesn’t look right when we play a couple of games.

And if something seems off, we are always open to try it and see if it will work or not. Or have already tried it and give you some feedback.

I was trying HOF last night to see if we could maybe be more in the middle or close to default instead of being maxed out. We still would see the 10-15 K in the game. Steve tried HOF with CPU contact 8, power 6, timing 10, solid hits 0 and it almost played the same as what version 2 plays. He had 13 K so it felt the same.

You gave me a good idea I'm going to do. Normally never play RTTS cause I am so immersed into my franchise. But pitching using these would be fun. Get a good feel of the grind of the Minors as you struggle at times in AA and AAA.

Soon I will be creating a CP by the name of Rick "wild thing" Vaugn who will come up through the Cleveland Guardians farm system. The word is he can throw 102mph+ but lacks control [emoji28]

Man do I miss Chief Wahoo though! Look at that glorious hat! Lol
