CPU contact at 10 makes strikeouts against them impossible, at least on AS difficulty. Needs to be lowered back down to 8 at the very most.

Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders
Welcome to the show! Glad that you decided to try our sliders. You will want to use version 2 which we created to try and help with the strikeouts. Steve and I would get about 10-15 K per game easily. Just affected their offense too much as those would be rally killers. Now there are some people using version 1.1 that do not have that problem. Quick counts might not be helping us with that. Let us know if you have any questions. Glad to have you.Comment

So far liking contact at 9 now but gotta see how it goes over a lot more games. But adjust to your liking based on your experience and personal skill set.

Now obviously it varies by pitcher but to say it's impossible is simply not true imo.
Also as Darth mentioned fielder speed at 4 is money (imo), I just can't remember the other settings I adjusted....lmao I think I lowered cpu contact down 1 to 9 and that's it.Last edited by Kramer5150; 04-10-2023, 10:06 PM.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders
Hi folks,
So after bouncing around a lot of differant slider sets from last years game, I finally settled on yours. I felt (for my ability and style of play), that these gave me the most enjoyable and realistic ecperience. So fast forward a year and Im back.
One thing I will say is that I usually prefer to play without Quick Counts, the only issue i seem to face (last years game) was that i really struggled to draw walks (probably down to the fact im too impatient). Anyway, I took the plunge, and tried Quick Counts this year just like you guys have recommended. I must say, I dont know why I havent tried these sooner, I've had a blast. Only issue is I may now be drawing too many walks lol.
Anyway down to the point, I'm using V2 sliders and through 5 games (Small sample size I know), Im enjoying the experience. these are the numbers im seeing:
User/CPU
AVG - 0.265/0.279
OBP - 0.358/0.337
SLG - 0.410/0.415
OPS - 0.767/0.752
BABIP - 0.342/0.359
A few things that are sticking out to me - My walk rate is around 14% per at bat, CPU striking me out around 29.5% So both a litlte high. Im striking out CPU around 28% per at bar. All other numbers walks(CPU), Doubles, HRs, Sac Flies, HBPs etc are all falling into line so far. Like I said, a small sample size. The walk, and strikeout numbers may fall back into line.Comment

Great set!!!! The one thing I’m trying to dial in is Human power. At 4 it seems like I don’t get enuff exit velo but at 5 it seems overpowered. Is anyone else running into this issue? If so, what did you do? Maybe leave power at 5 but drop solid hits to 4? I’m asking cause I know y’all have tried many different combinations. ……The CPU hitting is good. I went with the OP except power at 6. They definitely are getting great exit velo…..maybe a bit too much…..but I fear hitters and really have to pitch well

The strikeouts might just have to be on the higher side this year. We are really trying to stay on Allstar.
Thank you for the feedback and the numbers. They are a good start.Follow me on Twitch

Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders
I am convinced the high cpu strikeouts this year are just a game issue, guys. I mean we have tried everything possible to get them to be at a realistic rate. Version 2 is obviously the best we can even possibly do, and you will still occasionally have 12-13Ks in a game vs the cpu.
While always leaving cpu timing at 10 I have tried HOF with contact at 8, and it felt exactly the same as Allstar 8/10 for me. In three games (yes, small sample), I struck out the cpu 12, 12, and last was 13k. I tried Legend for a couple of games with timing at 10 and contact at 7.
SDS, IMO, decided to increase the AI swing and miss rate. Before version 2 I had strike out totals (multiple times for some) of 15, 17, and once I struck out Seattle 19 times. All with very little effort from me.
At least now I've had games between 4-7Ks vs the cpu. One game I finished with only 1k. We wouldn't come close to that before.

Were you finding power too much at 5 and too little at 4 as well? Basically, were you seeing the same issue I mentioned above?

Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders
Yeah. I get that. I was just wondering if maybe the AI logic was different with QC. Like maybe they don't realize they have 2 strikes or something. Wild guess lol.Last edited by MadKingCraig; 04-11-2023, 08:35 AM.Comment
