The Mets have a reliever named Sam Coonrod who has a 98 mph fastball that I cannot locate in the strike zone. It is realistic to the point of pure frustration and with the newer rules you have to keep a pitcher in for 3 batters before you take him out of the same inning. So if your reliever bombs you are in deep trouble.

Extra innings is a whole nother level of intrigue because you start out with a runner on 2nd.
Out of all the newer rules, I really dislike the 3 batter rule.

Question. If you do 30 man control. And set the CPU to manual for their lineup and rotation, we would have to manually rotate their players to get realistic numbers of games played no? No catcher would play every game. Seems like it would be hard to keep track of. Or CPU players stamina levels.
Love is the most important thing in the world, but baseball is pretty good, too.

In years past (using 30-team control and CPU lineups set to manual) the cpu still used their bench and changed up their lineups/starters etc.

Prob not as often as any of us like, but their OD starting 9 doesn't play every inning for 162 games.

2nd time through the rotation and he was at 5.1 IP, 97 pitches, 4K, 3 hits, 0 runs.
I had to pull him both times.
CPU is same, Luis Castillo was 5 IP, 3K, 110 pitches, 7 hits, 4 runs.
It's been this with this series for as long as I remember.
I am a very patient hitter and routinely have the opponents SP to 80+ pitches by end of the 4th.

I am also a very cautious pitcher, so the cpu does the same thing to me.

I think a lot of it depends on the user. Are u swing happy? Do you pound the strike zone regardless of batter?

I do wish I could see a few more 7 to 12 pitch innings, but it's rare (at least for me).

Is their energy at yellow yet? The pitchers can usually go around 110-120 pitches. Sometimes more or less depending on stress and confidence. But if you use quick counts, unfortunately, you can’t go by the typical pitch counts to determine to pull the pitcher.

This year, they didn’t give us a free pitch every AB. Last year, you get a 2-1 count, it only counted 2 pitches. So this year they would count all 3. So now by the 5th or 6th inning, after 20-25 AB, that is 20-25 extra pitches.

Yeah, they switch players out. You only have to fix their lineups if they get injured.

Maybe a dumb question, but my old eyes is missing it if it is indeed there.

Prior to playing a franchise game, when I go to select my SP, is there a way to see how much stamina each pitcher on my staff has?

Oh wow. I didn't know that. I thought controlling the other teams would require constant work. I may have to start using 30 team control. Is there any more detailed "instructions" for doing it? Thanks.

I don't know if SDS realizes it or not but they have created the worlds FIRST true professional sports simulation.

All of the other sports games have either unauthentic play or elements that you can spam to cheat with and win.

You can't spam anything in this game. Especially when you are batting.

I criticized the game at first not realizing that I had to change years worth of my strategies.

They have finally created a program to stay as competitive as possible like a professional team would. It is really quite an achievement. Hopefully they won't change it when they do next year's game.

So what you would want to do is make a profile for your team. And then make a profile for the other 29 teams. For your team, you would probably want everything set to manual in the options. Unless you want the AI to do something for your team for you. Then you right click to the AI profile that controls the 29 teams. I have lineups, 40 man roster, and waivers set to manual. I do the 40 man roster cause the AI will sometimes designate someone for assignment and add someone else to the 40 man roster so they can replace an injured player. I do roster moves as well but that is optional. If you do roster moves, the AI will not promote or demote anyone to/from the minors.

I also have injuries set to MLB only. So I’ll only get a notification if a MLB player is hurt. If it is a day to day injury the AI will replace him in the lineup and then put him back when he’s healthy. If he goes on the IR, I’ll switch to that team and promote someone for a replacement and fix the lineup. It is pretty easy to do.

I didn't explain myself clearly, sorry.

I meant to type "is there a place I can see the CURRENT energy bar for any given pitcher?

For instance, using 30-team control, if I want/have to move any teams rotation order around,I want to see how much stamina each SP has currently used up.

I don't want to accidentally move up a pitcher to start that day if he started a game 2 days ago and has a 1/2 empty energy bar.

Franchise to reality just came out and I know they did a lot of attribute edits…

Played my first game last night and the CPU seemed slightly muted with 10 strikeouts and only 6 hits (St.Louis)
