I've been following along in here and some other spots about guys not getting much offense out of the cpu, it's either all or nothing. Which makes me feel better about me just quick simming half innings while I'm on defense etc. CPU that way for sure puts up runs and I see all kinds of variations of offensive output. I shouldn't have to do that, but seems to be a must for me to do so I don't have the issues with the CPU hitting while I'm on the mound.

I'm having no issues. Currently tied 6-6 top 7th vs Pirates. They came back from down 6-2 on 13 hits and only one homerun. They fixed the strikeout problem from last year and they are very potent most games.

Best way is to simulate middle of June at least, or later. This allows players to settle into the season with hot and cold streaks. Because who knows, Verlander could start year with era under 2. But then he goes cold and is knocked around his next 3-4 starts.

Also, play with different teams. I'd recommend picking a day on the calendar and play every game and pitch with each team. Trust us, version 3 produces a large variety of games. Hit distribution percentages are near perfect. Tbh, if anything the cpu average is a tad too high overall but it's fine. Stop restarting a season. Test in middle of season and with every team you can.

It might just be me but it seems like this year the Hot/Cold streaks and pitcher confidence really influence the game this year. As you said, it's important to play more games into the franchise because of you get a couple guys with a cold icon or a pitcher with a low confidence meter, you're going to struggle.

I'm for the most part a lurker on these sliders discussion. I don't mess with sliders much but I have noticed that going up to LEGEND classic pitching has less of an effect than staying on HOF pitching and bumping up the CPU hitting sliders a few notches. I'm on HOF pitching with CPU contact at 7 and power at 6 and pitching has been stressful to say the least. Which is how it should be.

That is a great observation. And I believe it as well. On the other side of the ball, I think hitting on Allstar with lower timing is just as difficult as hitting on HOF on default.

I haven't tested that but i believe it. My hitting so far on HOF straight up has been fine so i haven't touched it.

What kind of sucks is it used to be Allstar was good with some cpu hitting slider bumps. Now like you said, it is HOF with those same type of bump ups.

True I've had to bump up a difficulty from previous years.

Something I've been noticing on V3 is that I'm not getting very many strikeouts or walks as a pitcher. I'm easily getting counts to 2 strikes but then it's hard to put them away because they'll usually just make weak contact for a ground out. Same with 3 ball counts. They'll usually just make an out in play instead of taking ball 4. My last 3 starts with Zack Wheeler I've only got 3, 4 and 4 strikeouts. Seems to only happen to starters too. I'm getting plenty of strikeouts with relievers.

Crazy how it is the total opposite from last year. I still am seeing strikeouts but I’m the Dodgers. But my SP gets more K’s than my bullpen.

You could lower timing by 1 and see if that helps.

Could just be one of those things. What's weird is that Wheeler for me is on a Hot Streak with full confidence and I got 3 Ks in my last game. My next game was with Taijuan Walker who is rated significantly lower and I got 6 Ks.

It’s a bit difficult to test in franchise with those hot & cold streaks. What I do when I want to test a sliders change is save it right before the game and play same game 2 or 3 times. It’s interesting to see the performance fluctuations even in the same game configuration.

if you want a few extra K throw fastballs up and in but dont do to often I find it unrealistic how often they strikeout so Id rather pitch a true game

16 games in things have been great with the settings pretty happy with them. hitting wise I use Legend and up contact 2 and timing 1.. wasnt too happy with the lack of hitting so I upped contact to 3 and lowered fastball pitch speed by one cuz i was tired of being very late on fastballs in. of course, now Im mashing the ball.

so, may start a new test season with your hitting sliders. what are they? thanks! I just use buttons for hitting
