Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
Yeah, pitch speeds are very unique. It also depends on your TV, the camera angle you choose, your ability, and your vision.
I am sadly using pitch speeds of 2 on HOF hitting. I can actually work walks and I can read the ball better at 2. I'm still late on some fastballs. But for the first time, I actually led the league in walks. I am trying to raise it back up slowly but I just got so used to it at 2.Follow me on Twitch

Yeah, I will get it early access. I thought I paid $99 last year for early access. Or maybe it was $89?Follow me on Twitch

I also heard that Ramone Russell was no longer over the progress and marketing of the game. I don't know if that is true but this year's game has had absolutely no fanfare what so ever. Absolutely no peep of him so far.Comment

I am excited for the two franchise deep dives at the end of this month. I think they are promoting the new Road to the Show with the college and high school right now. People seem excited for that but we'll see about franchise.Follow me on Twitch

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
Of all the games I have on my Series X ONLY MLB 24 has grainy graphics.
Even Fortnite nowadays has graphics that now blow away The Show.
It is literally the ONLY game out on New Gen in 2025 that look like it does.
The graphics are last in the business and that is NO exaggeration.Comment

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
I don't understand what excites so many people about college implementation. Yes, it might be cool to see your own college or your favorite college team, but what does that add to the depth of the game? It's the same as NBA2k where you used to have 5-10 games in high school. You usually have bad ratings at this time, and after these 5-10 games it's the same game as before.
It would be interesting to really feel part of the team. You sometimes have good relationships with your teammates, which influence your experience or skills. Suddenly these players are being traded. Or you have certain storylines, you come back from an injury but struggle hard. Or the media criticizes you for a while, etc.Comment

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
I have to admit that after looking at what they have released so far that I am not very enthused.
Same graphics. Same stadiums.
They keep playing around with the fielding and the throwing meters.
I can see the grainy graphics on the feature premiere video. SMH.
Does not seem like their is a lot of enthusiasm from the team this year.
Changing the meters is not really a big deal because their are plenty of people who use auto fielding when they play.
Plus the team is DEAD WRONG. Fielding ratings are NOT the most important attribute especially for outfielders. For the OF the most important aspect is the SPEED of the outfielders. Outfielders with a higher speed rating are going to get to more balls based on that fact and is the BIGGEST influence on your defense especially if you field your self. With the current game mechanics with a slow OF their will be a ton of balls that you just will not get to even if they are actually good fielders. If you have 3 outfielders with decent speed then you have good fielding outfield regardless of their ratings.
I don't hear Ramone Russell on the video so perhaps he really isn't on the game anymore. I do see Ashley Saunders though she was one my favorites.Comment

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
All I know is something needed to be done with fielders because it didn’t seem to matter who I had out there for defense as long as it’s a position they play. Meanwhile in super mega baseball you can tell the difference in defenders by a huge margin. It makes the game feel more alive like who you have out there actually makes a difference..
Long rant over but I’m glad they’re at least trying somethingComment

Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders
The funniest thing about the feature premiere video is this.
They spent 90 minutes talking about game features that are not going to mean a thing when the CPU starts its comeback programming in late innings of the game. The fielding changes won't mean anything when the CPU makes poor contact on a perfectly thrown pitch but the ball somehow drops in for a bloop hit or somehow trickles right through the infield. Badges and meters won't mean anything when the CPU is coming back.Last edited by HeadCoach2.0; 02-15-2025, 01:05 PM.Comment
