Armor, your thread/twitch streams have yet again convinced me to buy a video game. My first MLB The Show on the current gen. Downloading it now and then hopping right into a Franchise…can’t wait. Playing all 162.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but how do you tell which pitch you’re throwing with the “clean screen” set-up? Do you just have each players pitches memorized? This will be my first year using the clean screen, auto fielding/baserunning, etc.

Skenes goes 6 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 5 SO.

They pull him after a lead off triple (around 70 pitches I think)

I then proceed to add 10 hits, 8 runs (3 home runs) and win 9-3.

Just hit start when your pitcher takes the mound, or anytime when you're pitching, and you can see what the pitches are. 1st pitch is X, second is O third is ∆, fourth is square, and fifth is R1.

Push up on the directional pad and it will take you to the pitcher analysis screen and it will show the repertoire. Also when your batting it will show a the cpu pitches

Armor do you use the injury dice rolls for the cpu or do you just let those injuries happen or not? If so how?

The Injury Matrix is just for my team. I let the CPU injuries just happen.

We are testing one update and so far I like it.


Fielder Reaction and Fielder Speed back to default 5.

I noticed the new emphasis on fielder reactions based a lot more on their ratings. And I love it.

So we went back to default and I think it is balanced there.

I expect to make it official if I continue to see it play out as well as I have seen.

How close is Version 1 to being locked in for franchise use? And what is the biggest difference you've seen between this years game and years past when you either didn't get the game all together, or weren't as fully committed like you were for MLB 20?

Waiting for the Fidelity rosters to drop then picking up the game and starting my franchise using your sliders! Thanks!

How much of a requirement is having the pitching ball marker off? I’ve had it off for two years and to be honest I don’t know if I pitched any better or worse but I will say I don’t like having it off as much as using it for sure.

- The biggest difference between 20 and 25 is gameplay and presentation. Gameplay has never been better and I said the same thing about 24 even though I finally started playing it in December of 2024 LOL. It's just baseball heaven on the diamond....and 25 amped up the presentation even more with pre game storylines and the farm report. Also retro presentation themes are great which they brought over from moments and the storylines modes. Off Season free agency is now reworked and far more exciting and the bullpen logic has been re-worked for the modern game and works really well.

As far as V1 is is locked in, I am however working on one tweak to fielder reaction and speed and that will probably be updated next week....but the sliders are pretty much locked in IMO.

Ok after further testing…..V1 is locked in.


I prefer Reaction and Fielder Speed at 4/4. Makes for better seperation on giys who are elite vs below average.


I have to say that if you haven’t noticed it yet…..without a doubt the ball spins with pitching when you are batting are literally the most realistic and challenging I have ever seen on a console baseball game…..ever.

CPU pitch sequencing, painting the black has never ever been this realistic.

It’s really next level on 25 and it will make it hard for me to play any previous titles in the series…..it’s just that amazing.

Loving gameplay etc so far. My dilemma 15 games through is CPU first pitch strike %. I don't have exact numbers, but it seems in 10 of the 15 games by the 5th inning it's always mentioned how the pitcher has a 70/80% first pitch strike.
0-1 continuously definitely changes the approach.
Is this purely based one potentially who I'm facing or something you're seeing as well?

Right there with you, Mikey. I’ve had this same experience 20 games into my franchise. To combat this, I knocked strike freq to 4 and I think it’s helped a bit but not by a ton. Maybe moving CPU pitcher accuracy / consistency up would help?

It can be a slippery slope....SDS really tuned the pitch sequencing and hitting the black on the edges this cycle.....if you still feel after 20 more games you are seeing high of a strike percentage for your taste.....move down CPU strike Frequency to 4.

Don't touch CPU Pitcher Consistency.....it is highly sensitive this year and at default I noticed too many wild pitches/dirtballs/passed balls for my taste.

That one tweak should cut the strikes down a tad if that is what you are seeking. But I would give it another 20 games before changing anything.
