Thanks for testing this out...I've been testing as well as I have seen starters getting pulled in the 4th...they may be down 3 or 4 runs, but I still think the rope is too tight... One question, in a 3 game series, are you seeing the CPU trot out the relievers in the same way every game? I've faced the same three guys on the Marlins 3 days in a row, which would never happen....not sure there is a way to make the CPU work the bullpen better or not.

Any shame in lowering pitch speed to 6/6? My 61 year old eyes are struggling to catch up to low 90’s fastballs at 7/7, even when I am sitting on them. I have tried 6/6 in a few practice games and I definitely hit better in terms of not always being late on fastballs - but then I feel guilty for lowering pitch speed to make things a bit easierCurrently playing:

Update to the CPU hook slider........it simply makes no difference with the new coding for pulling starters.
Guys are gonna get pulled quicker than what many think is appropriate. I think a lot of it has context......but there are some I simply do not like. But that's a product of the modern game.
I am going to test more with starter stamina as that has more of an affect than the hook slider which feels neutered now.Now Playing on PS5:

FWIW this is what I'm seeing -
As I play exhibition games or allow cpu vs cpu games while testing my 1998 roster edit, I've had the CPU hook slider set to 1. Along with strike frequency at 4 but everything else is set to the current version of this slider set. While it feels to me that the game is hard coded for pitchers to go 3 times through the lineup, I have seen the pitchers getting a pitch count in the high 90s and over 100. I have seen a good variety of innings pitched as well. I've seen cpu pitchers with over 100 pitches pulled in the 6th but also guys at 85 lasting through the 8th. I dont recall seeing many CGs but I have seen guys start the 9th but get pulled at the slightest hint of trouble at that point.
For full disclosure, as I'm editing the pitcher attributes in this set, I have increased each individual pitchers stamina rating by +5 over what this rosters RBU rating original setting.
There does seem to be a variety in pitch counts and IPs in my testing
Just wanted to give my two cents on what I'm seeing as I go along.

Glad to see rosters edits in combination with a higher stamina slider setting and lower hook setting is working well. Very encouraging news there Gamer.
Can't wait till your 1998 is ready to roll along with Jim Meyers 1985.Now Playing on PS5:

Yeah I think with modern rosters they have hard coded the 3x through the lineup philosophy, so it's going to take an extreme adjustment to the hook slider to compensate for that coding.

Really liked these settings, but I'm starting to believe all these settings don't even matter in the end. The game already decided who's going to win before the game has started. This game feels so scripted, it's not even funny anymore.Comment

How do you know who they decided is going to win?Comment

Because the CPU starts to hit everything from the 8th inning and up. Even if the whole team is ****, they will find a way to score against you when you are nearing the end. It happens so many times, just pay attention to it. Players with 0-4 suddenly hit a 2B to start the AB off, suddenly they know how to hit a HR on a ball that's so far away from the zone that it's almost a wild pitch. Suddenly your perfect hits become weak pop ups or line-outs. If the game is close within 3 runs, the CPU will use anything that it has in it's arsenal to make you lose.
Currently I'm 9-10 in my Franchise, 6 of those 10 losses were exactly like that.
But most SDS loverboys will never see it that way, they are too far up SDS's ***....
I do have to say that beside the stufff that I said about the game, Armor and Swords settings are the best of them all for sure.Last edited by YDS555; 06-09-2025, 12:06 PM.Comment
