Dook, I did start from 1871. Not sure as to how long it took, it was a few hours though. I'll continue that game later, as I'm also starting my Brewers real world save right now.

They released it for preorder buyers the 12th. It was just a download link, then when the game starts there is a place to enter the serial code.

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
I have OOTP 12, but never really got the hang of all the stuff, so I will have to pick this up and see if I can on this version.
All the randomness of the stuff that can happen is awesome though.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Double posting for fun.
I bumped the trade difficulty thing in my game up to "Hard" to see how it is (this may or may not be my long-term real world save, still getting a feel for things) and holy cow... It lives up to it's name. I feel like the deals are fair for the most part. I've made 3 trades, and I feel like I got the better end of some and the losing end of some. I've even had to end up keeping Yuniesky Betancourt on the roster, which is bad. I'm using 1-20 for player stat ratings, and 20-80 for overall/potential ratings. In the player trades listed below, I didn't list potentials though I probably should have.
Trade 1 ([ML] = Minor Leaguer)
Spoiler
Brewers Send:
CF Carlos Gomez (10 contact/11 Power/8 Eye, 48/48 overall/potential)
CL John Axford (20 Stuff/14 Movement/9 Control, 69/71)
RF Kentrail Davis (9 Contact/9 Power/8 Eye, 21/29) [ML]
Royals Send:
1B Billy Butler (15 Contact/13 Power/11 Eye, 62/70)
2B Johnny Giavotella (11 Contact/6 Power/8 Eye, 21/51) [ML]
Trade 2
Spoiler
Brewers Send:
1B Hunter Morris (9 Contact/11 Power/9 Eye, 21/45)
C Jonathan Lucroy (13 Contact/11 Power/9 Eye, 63/78)
SP Johnny Hellweg (10 Stuff/12 Movement/9 Control, 20/43) [ML]
SP Drew Gagnon (6 Stuff/11 Movement/10 Control, 20/31) [ML]
RF Caleb Gindl (9 Contact/7 Power/10 Eye, 21/23) [ML]
Athletics Send:
CF Yoenis Cespedes (13 Contact/15 Power/10 Eye, 74/74)
2B Jemile Weeks (10 Contact/4 Power/9 Eye, 21/64) [ML]
Trade 3
Spoiler
Brewers Send:
2B Rickie Weeks (10 Contact/12 Power/12 Eye, 68/68)
SP Jimmy Nelson (10 Stuff/12 Movement/7 Control, 20/50) [ML]
SP Jed Bradley (10 Stuff/10 Movement/6 Control, 20/37) [ML]
SP Taylor Jungmann (10 Stuff/11 Movement/9 Control, 20/50) [ML]
SP/LR Chris Narveson (12 Stuff/11 Movement/12 Control, 25/25)
Cubs Send:
C Welington Castillo (10 Contact/11 Power/11 Eye, 28/58)
SS Arismendy Alcantara (8 Contact/7 Power/7 Eye, 21/73) [ML]
This is what my batting order looks like right now (further tweaking during the season can happen.)
RF Nori Aoki
LF Ryan Braun
CF Yoenis Cespedes
1B Billy Butler
3B Aramis Ramirez
2B Jemile Weeks
SS Jean Segura
C Martin Maldonado
Reserves:
C Welington Castillo
1B Alex Gonzalez
2B Johnny Giavotella
3B/SS Yuniesky Betancourt
LF Khris Davis
CF/RF Logan Schafer
Pitching Rotation:
#1 Yovani Gallardo
#2 Kyle Lohse
#3 Mike Fiers
#4 Marco Estrada
#5 Wily Peralta
Relievers:
Michael Olmstead
Jim Henderson
Brandon Kintzler
Tom Gorzelanny
Burke Badenhop (Set-Up Man)
Mike Gonzalez (Closer)
Still got some work to do, I especially need at least 1 Lefty starting pitcher (preferably 2, and another lefty reliever.)
1B Corey Hart is injured for 2 months
1B Mat Gamel is out for a full year
SP Mark Rogers is out for a month
When healthy, Gamel and Hart are now most likely trade bait for some pitching prospects.Last edited by ubernoob; 04-15-2013, 04:07 AM.badComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Can't wait to get home and download this, bought 13 and loved it. I dont know what I was thinking not going for the preorder, I do the same with all sports games though. Tell myself I will hold out for a price drop/patch but ususally can't wait that long.
You do download from the website, I recommend using this link to the forum though, the banner image on the homepage is changed to OOTP 14 but the download link is still connected to ootp13. The link in forum does connect to the OOTP 14 download...

Edit: The download link on the OOTP homepage is now connected to OOTP 14 properly.Last edited by Benz87; 04-15-2013, 03:32 PM.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Bucks | Milwaukee BrewersComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Here is how i've been doing with the pirates, even though i'm playing the IOS version, and not the PC, or Mac version.
I'm about to start the 2016 season. And With the past 3 years being some what of a disappointment, i decided to go all in for the 2016 season.
Pitching Rotation:

Line up:
Spoiler
In 2015, we made a huge run and almost went above 500, and since i already have some players that i can build around i decided to really pursue all the top FA of that year. I went after Cueto, but he decided to go with the Yankess. Went after B. Anderson, but he chose the Red Sox. I tried to go after J. Upton, but he went to the White Sox. There were others, but i only got J. Heyward and N. Feliz.
Something that really shocked me was that M. Moreland hit 39 HR, and drove in 115. While batting 309, OBP of 377, and SLGing 565. Super surprised.
Here is how i've been doing for the past 3 years.

and my payroll for 2016.
Spoiler
In 2013, 14, and 15. My payroll was around the 50-60 millions, but like i said. I'm going all in, in 2016.
I've been thinking about buying the PC, or Mac version, because i've been having so much fun with this IOS version. But i have a feeling that i won't be playing it as much as this one. I really like playing this game while i'm on the train, not at home, so i would see my self not playing it a lot if i buy the PC, or MAC version. I'm leaning towards buying it, but i don't know, we'll see.
Should I really buy the PC, Mac version?MLB: Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves
NBA:Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
That's totally up to you. It seems like you're really digging the iOS version, so I can't think you'd not like the full deal.
The iOS version does pack a lot of punch compared to most handheld games. I find it easier to search/manage on the Mac version than the iOS version. Another bonus is you don't have to pay for individual seasons on the Full PC/Mac, as you can chose to start at any season you wish.Comment

I do the same.
I thought about going the 2-8 rating system.
For those who preordered - patch was released today with roster update. People who bought the game today or plan to the newest update is already included.Comment

Click on the game drop down, then advanced setup or something (it's the top option in the last menu section.). Then it should be the bottom left options in the 2nd tab of that menu.badComment

So we can turn the stars off? I thought you could, but wasn't sure.
I think I am going to go 2-8 scale and 20-80 for prospects.
There is so many options I never know what to mess with.
What are some of the main options you all change?Comment
