    Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***

So i've heard about OOTP for sometime now but i was never too familiar with it. I've always ran franchises with The Show. However i recently downloaded OOTP 18 and i'm waiting till my next check to afford it. This will be my first time officially booting it up and actually playing it. I know i know, i'm a noob to the OOTP World lol. I heard a rumor that female players and the historic AAGPBL was in the game. I had an idea for a female league after i spent some time playing it to get the hang of it.

So can anyone confirm if females or the league is in?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but females will be in OOTP 19 which is set to release just shortly on 22 March 2018.

        Hi Everyone,

So I've heard about OOTP Baseball for quite a while now, but I never knew what it is or even how to play. Can anyone give me a quick run-down about what the game is and if it is worth trying it out? Thanks.

            Quick question...

Do they still have off field stuff? Like in '11 I had a pitcher out due to ankle issue after a pickup basketball game injury. Think it was a basketball in jury..

Anyways just curious if these types of things are still in the game.

Yes they are. It's even been expanded through stories that update through the year.

Currently in 2022 of a Brewers save. I won 96 games two years in a row before "regressing" to 91 years this year. First year, we were one and done and the last two years we lost in the LCS. This year, we fell to the Padres, who went on to win the WS. (Only three years after winning 56 games. They hadn't made the playoffs since 2010 before this season.) They won the WS with the lowest payroll (64 mil) and 2nd lowest budget.

Love it when anomalies like that happen. Keep us updated on the Padres. I want to see if they can sustain that success or if it was a one and done!

It's one of the things I love most about the game. I will! I started the 2023 season soon after I posted here.

I'm hoping with the groundswell of support for this year's game (it's becoming more palatable to gamers who want to see physical action on the screen) that this subforum becomes a bit more active this year. It would be nice to be able to drop in daily and see interesting things people are doing with their baseball universe rather than a mostly dead forum. Sure, there is an OOTP Developments Forum (which I encourage folks to check out for mods/ideas/misc) but it would be nice to see OS get a little more active about this game.

I’m still playing OOTP 18 I’m in September right now with the Cubs. I want to finish the season and playoffs. I will look in to moving it over to 19 I just need to look up how that works.

It's really easy. There will be an option to transfer a save from OOTP 18.

It is recommended it be done at the start of the off season.

                                Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***

I just got done with a replay of the 1949 season. The season finished mostly the same way as the real one did, but I was able to lead the Red Sox past the Yankees without colapsing at the end of the year. In the Senior Circuit, the Dodgers won 100 games and easily took down St. Louis for the pennant.

This World Series was a beast. Game One should have been a low scoring affair, but both Roy Campanella and Ted Williams hit grand slams. The series went back and forth with both teams winning games in each other's parks. Game Seven was at Fenway, and in his first at bat, Johnny Pesky drove in Dom DiMaggio. I felt like this was it; that the curse would be snapped 55 years early, and Ted Williams could get that elusive ring.

Then Reese hit a 2 RBI double in the 3rd. Jackie Robinson answered the next inning with a solo shot. Duke Snyder, who had only 3 hits to his name in the first six games went 3-4 with three runs. Vern Stephens showed up late in the game to drive in a 2 run blast and it looked like a comeback could be in the works.

It was not to be: Roe struck out Pesky to end the game.

I've started to move more and more to OOTP. It's been an adjustment without the graphics or player control like MLB the Show, but by God, that 1949 Red Sox team will forever be my turning point in loving this game.
