Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
So heading to the end of May and so far so good for my Jays. The team has gone 12-2 and have won 10 straightI've had a couple of comeback wins, but the biggest reason for my success has been the fact that my starters woke up and pitched better. Dickey has been on fire as you can see. Bautista has gotten hot while Encarnacion has continued his hot start. Of course, getting Lawrie back has helped.
I'm looking to try and pry Kolten Wong from the Cards as I realize that I need to continue to balance my focus of winning now and rebuilding the farm system AA traded away last season. If Buerhle continues to struggle, I might try using him as a trade chip since I have MacGowan, Drabek, and Hutchison coming back at some point
Cincinnati have continued to dominate the season though losing an incredible 5 times so far lolComment

The worst part is I had injuries turned on very low (the lowest it can go) because it was a test game to check out different settings and see how balance is throughout the seasons.badComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Ouch. I think I still have mine on normal. There've been some major injuries in my season and I've lost Romero and Janssen already for extended periods of time. I'm just praying I don't get anymore of themComment

Hold ctl and print screen button and then past in paint. At least that's what I do.Comment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
So I quit my fictional league and started a new astros game. This will be the game I will be mainly playing from now on. First year done I had a 99 loss season.
One BIG thing happened: the padres moved to Austin! They are the Austin Engineers.Comment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
The name has a nice ring to itI just made my first somewhat major move in my Blue Jays career trading Sergio Santos and Andy LaRoche to the Cards for Trevor Rosenthal and Kolten Wong. Ever since Janssen went down, Santos has blown 3 saves and had an ERA of 4.68. LaRoche wasn't being used much and with Bonifacio coming off the DL soon, I figured he was expendable.
In Wong, I am getting my 2nd baseman of the future and could even play this year if I wanted to rush him (not). In Rosenthal, I'm getting a young pitcher with good potential. Drabek, Hutchison, and Luis Perez are all on rehab assignments so I'm hoping to get them all back without any issues.
Buerhle, Happ, and Delabar are candidates to go if they don't shape up soon. All have struggled and not improved dramatically enough to keep them.Comment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
My end of May update is here. We went 23-6 to open up a big lead in the division. Encarnacion now has 15 homers and 59 RBI's heading into the dog months of summer while Bautista hit 8 homers in heating up.
R.A. Dickey was named AL pitcher of the month, going 6-0 with a 1.41 ERA. He pitched 3 complete games during the streak and is a big reason why the team's starting pitching improved. Josh Johnson and Morrow also improved.
Happ has been demoted to the bullpen and Rosenthal impressed in his first start, pitching 8 solid innings in a 9-2 thrashing of the Padres. Now, I'm desperately trying to prep myself for the draft as I begin the process of restocking the farm systemComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
I have scouting on 100% accurate (especially as a force of habit from the older OOTP games when scouting was absolutely horrendous) so I can't give any tips there.
Normally what I do is with my first pick, I'll grab a need player (I always look for good contact/eye/avoid K. Power is a bonus for me.) Then pretty much every other round I'll grab a pitcher that I think has a chance to develop into a good starter (either good movement/control and a multitude of pitches.)badComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
I am in a big need of pitching so that will be my main goal in this coming years draft. I don't have many pitching prospects and my rotation is beyond horrid. I am in the offseason and I am trying to sign Ubaldo Jimenez to help out a little. He is the only "good" pitcher that is reasonably cheap.Comment
