Yeah i'll just give it time.
I decide to start a game with no team. Worst mistake of my life lol. I took a job as the "GM" of a Venezuelan team, supposedly. i can't make even make a trade. Dombrowski makes all the decisions for me.MLB: Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves
NBA:Detroit Pistons, Memphis Grizzlies

Downloaded iOOTP 14 on my iPhone. Haven't stopped playing it. Other than the editor, nothing really new but this game is addicting. I keep saying "ok one more game and I'm done" next thing I know I have played a months worth of games.Texas A&M Aggies
Denver Broncos
Colorado Avalanche

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
It's definitely overwhelming for a first time player. Hell I've been playing it for a long time and there are times when I still get lost looking for something. My experience is to definitely give it some time and be patient and if you need help hit up the OOTP forums.
Run some test franchises until you get comfortable and are ready to start an official one as some suggested above. I think if you give it time you'll be happy you did!Comment

Any improvements made when starting from the earliest date? I know past versions didn't unfold correctly in terms of history unless you wanted to jump through a million hoops and do it yourself.Comment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
I started a fictional Canadian baseball league. On opening day, I clicked the button to turn on the 3d mode, and my computer froze. Ugh.

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Been out of the OOTP loop for a while. I'm the type who controls all the in-game stuff, so I was wondering about the "Pitch to Contact" option - that wasn't there in the last OOTP I played. I'm assuming that's the type of thing you'd use when the pitcher has a large advantage over the hitter, and you just want him to throw strikes and keep his pitch count low?
The in-game help was a big help in understanding how each of those manager options affect the sim, but it didn't cover that option. I was especially interested in the "Hold Runner" option because I never really understood what it did until now.
Does the CPU still not have to warmup pitchers even when the warmup rule is on? In my first game I saw it bring in a new pitcher even though it had nobody in the pen, with the warmup rule on. After that I turned it off until I know for sure whether it has to.
Game kept crashing right at the start of that "US Baseball League" quick start, but when I created a fictional league with those same settings it worked fine. I'm a few weeks into a manager career (started unemployed, gotta work my way up) and enjoying it so far.
