    Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***

Many Thanks for the explanation and saving me the time !
I think its reasonable, I don't necessarily need a player interaction as long as there are some effects on the morale and happiness.

Im from EU and love baseball, PYS and OOTP seem like a perfect combination to me

    Thanks again

Does anyone know if there's a way to do a historical league where the players are drafted by the teams that drafted them, but without real life transactions?

I can commissioner mode everything and run the draft myself but that gets tiresome...I'd like to be able to avoid Mariano Rivera on the Phillies, etc. (at least when he first comes into the league), but then be able to make my own moves with a major league club.

        Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***

Just got into OOTP again. Bought it the last two years, this year I wanted to skip it however a wanted to try the mobile version and it totally got me into the game again. After that I couldn't hold back on buying the PC game anymore.
This is really the best game out there, ain't having such a good time with The Show. Also I have to say that I feel baseball is the ideal sport for such a manager game.

Same here. Well not in regards to the show, I didn't bother picking it up this year. Not sure if I will purchase anymore as they seem to be going in a different direction that I prefer.
No doubt about ootp tho. I love the game and for the most part find much less frustration with it. Love all the stats and the options available for it!!
Glad ootp is there for me to get my baseball fix!! [emoji106]

Yes, you can do that. When setting up the league in the wizard, in step two, don't check the boxes for real historical transactions and real historical lineups.

After you're done setting up the league, go to League Settings > Rules and disable the amateur draft, which will ensure players go to their actual teams, rather than showing up in the draft.

I still like Show, it's a fun game to play, yet there quiet a few things that kill the immersion for me every now and then. In OOTP on the other hand the whole things feels like real baseball too me, sure it's not perfect but almost everything that can happen in the game could happen just like that irl.

I've somehow managed to win 10 in a row with the Jays. I'm scared to keep going as I know this won't last. The franchise record is 11.

Guys I am very seriously thinking about getting my first OOTP game. I am a huge baseball geek and I only really have one last question that I can't find an answer to.

If I start a franchise at the very beginning of time, for baseball, I was wondering if as time went on would the real players join the league and would team moves and expansion occur thru time. In other words would Babe Ruth appear in 1914? Would Tampa appear in 1998? Would the Dodgers move to LA?

If the answers to any of all of these questions are yes, I think I just went to Baseball heaven.

                  Thanks for the time.

OMG really? That is amazing!! I had no idea something like this was out there. I feel like a fool for missing out on this. I just turned 47 and I have been playing APBA since I was like 15. I play the heck out of The Show and just saw this like a month ago on Steam and was freaking out.

                      Thanks for the quick answer!!!!!!

And my first OOTP game was 14 and felt the same way as you! I couldn't believe I had been missing out on something this great for all these years

I love this game. Best baseball game because of all the depth. I learned so much more about baseball because of OOTP in terms of the advanced stats, managing minors, and player development.

This is from OOTP 15 but the concepts are similar and a good foundation to start
