Woulda like to see more about how the crowd noise, and overall presentation was improved, and online play, but other than that its goodOriginally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview
this game sounds great...for exhibition mode.
same schedule every year in franchise pretty much took this game off my list. I love the idea of arbitration, 3-1 trades, moving into new stadiums, but all that doesn't really matter much to me when I know I'm gonna play the Chicago Cubs every year in interleague on the same exact date.
that's boring, and ridiculous. I'm upset for Acclaim b/c I really like their series.
"we aren't fans of the behind-the-pitcher view" has also got to be the most egotistical, one-sided thinking ever in a video game. I obviously don't care to this company.
I'm done with ASB until they get their act together."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview
There is definitely a difference in tone between that interview and the one for MVP baseball.
I will now pick up MVP Baseball and WSB before ASB....it is now 4th place on my list...
#1 HH
#2 MVP
#3 WSB
#4 ASB
hopefully Microsofts game can jump up near the top.
thanks Steve for the info!teaching.............still fun

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview
High Heat is still at the top of my list, then WSB, and then MVP. I don't see myself buying All Star this year. I bought it last year, and it just didn't feel right...I got really bored with it after just a few games. There is no atmosphere to the game, and I don't see that changing this year as it is at the core of the engine which has already been established.
A few things I didn't like about ASB that I doubt will be changed:
1) I hate having to use a cursor. It's just not realistic, you shouldnt be able to control weather you hit a fly ball or a grounder, and you shouldn't be able to control where you place your hit either, beyond a shadow of doubt. Plus, the complete lack of balls thrown by CPU pitchers ruined the interface for me. Maybe the lack of pithces out of the strike zone will be fixed, but not the basic interface, which just isn't for me. Not taking away from those of you who like it.
2) The general lack of excitement through out the game. It's just really drab.
Don't get me wrong, the game did alot of things right. But it just didn't feel like baseball to me. Just MY opinion, remember.Comment

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview
I will agree with the above on a couple of levels.
Primarily, to get so many little details right and to not include a schedule randomizer is ridiculous. Silly. Well, it's the type of oversight you shouldn't see in this day and age of sports games.
Secondly, not including a view because they don't like it isn't fan friendly. Despite what you think of these two titles, WSB added it because fans want it and HH adds things like Foul Ball Tune Sliders because fans want them.
You're making games for the fans, give them what they want.
All things considered, this game sounds so sweet. but there are a few major oversights. This interview has made me go from the "probably will buy" perspective to the "probably will rent" one.
