What is meant about switching stadiums during Franchise? What other stadiums are usable for Franchise Mode other than the regular?

I know that not everyone has to like every game, but I just don't understand some of your complaints.

First, you complain about the lack of random schedules after the first year. But does HH have it? I doubt it, considering that last year's HH didn't even have the schedule for the right year. (Instead, it used the schedule from the 2001 season.)

Second, some of you say that you won't buy ASB because you don't like cursors. I don't care for cursors either, but last year's ASB was very much playable (and enjoyable) on EASY BATTING mode. No cursors there..

As far as lack of atmosphere..I just don't see it. ASB is leaps and bounds over HH in that department..

As always, just my 2 cents..

hey, like I said, the game sounds great. But only if you are playing exhibition. They did a great job with franchise mode by adding arbitration (that's really a HUGE PLUS...I wasnt even expecting a game to consider that till 5 years from now). but no random schedule pretty much kills arbitration. I just don't understand how you can ADD a whole new feature and still not have somethin that EVERY baseball game already has. please acclaim answer me that.

the game sounds great. I liked ASB 2002. But with the competition out there, I am leaning heavily toward MVP 2003 (didnt ever think I would buy an EA Sports product again) b/c I like what the game has to offer so far. If it's nothing like Triple Play I'll buy it. Basically, i'm gonna rent most of the baseball games. IF MVP is perfect (for me) i'm buyin it. If not, I'll try Inside Pitch next. Then if still no purchase I'll try High Heat, then WSB, and lastly ASB.

And you can tell from the tone of the MVP BB interview that those guys (EA) were excited about their new game. I think someone mentioned this earlier. The tone of this interview really didn't make you wannna jump up and go out and buy this game!

I'm with you guys in that this interview didn't impress me at all. The only thing that really sounded cool was the Pickup Game, and Skyboxer is right in that since they didn't even mention online play (while at the same time talking about roster updates), it's surely not included.

The addition of online might have caused me to buy it. Now I'll probably just give it a rent to see how the pickup game feature looks. At this point, I'll be checking out MVP Baseball secondly after I play WSB2K3 into the ground.

To me, the interview was a little short (we should've posted more questions for this interview), we definitely need to get PJ to come here and do a chat session (once he has the time). Last years sessions were awesome and very informative (much more so than last years interview).

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview

I had ASB last year and really enjoyed it. I was excited about all of the new additions and from reading the interview it seems they fixed all the issues I had with last years game. And then I read this...

Operation Sports: Has a behind the pitcher view been added in this years game?

              P.J. Snavely: It hasn’t – we’re not huge fans of a behind-the-pitcher view.

What? Who cares if you're a fan or not. This might not be a big thing for some sports gamers, but it is something that I feel has been missing in recent baseball games and I was really looking forward to having it this year. I stopped reading the interview right there... It looks like I'll be moving over to WSB, HH or maybe even MVP.

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview

No internet access all day and just look at the fun I've missed.

The game sounds great... I don't understand what you guys are complaining about either. How many of you played more than 2 seasons in your franchise last year? Not simmed, but played? I didn't, and I played some sort of video game baseball almost on a daily basis. If you are only going to make it through one or two seasons in your franchise mode, then what does a random schedule matter?!? You will play the same teams in your division the same number of times, random or not. I guess the big deal is for inter-league play.... but that's something like 15 games a season. Again, not a game killer by any stretch of the imagination.... unless you're just looking for an excuse to find something to kill the game for you before you even buy it. Even then, not a game killer.

As for the behind the pitcher view... what difference does it make? When was the last time you played with a behind the pitcher view in a console baseball game? WSB is adding it this year.... but if they don't add something like arbitration that ASB is adding, does it make it a game killer, a must-not buy? I don't see it. Games add different features based on what is important to them.... if they don't like the behind the pitcher view, but did like 3 for 1 trades and stuff like arbitration, then they added what they thought would add more value. Half of you who said "they make it for the fans" aren't fans of the game in the first place, so the changes wouldn't have been done for you anywho.

Enough of the rant... ASB sounds awesome.
