All this talk about a camera and nobody even cares about the improved gameplay or franchise modes... sad.

    AMEN!!
If the gameplay issues are addressed,i.e. walks, baserunning,in game saves, etc. than they made a big leap from last years game. As Guru says, give it a whirl. I,m guessing you can get past the behind the pitcher view. With all the games coming out, there will be very few of us that have time to get through more than a few seasons.

Re: Our All-Star Baseball 2004 Interview

You obviously didn't read my post, b/c you wouldve read that I credited Acclaim for improving their franchise mode (addition of arbitration, 3-1 trades, etc.) I also like the idea of a pickup game. All sounds great. I'm sure they improved the gameplay too. Fine, makes me happy.

But the fact of the matter is that they shoved off the question as if it didn't matter what the buyers want. It could have been anything. It could have been, names on the back of the jersey. Somethin so small, I could care less if its in the game or not. But when you answer that you don't like the idea, you pretty much tell me that you only make a game that you want and not what the fans want.

I understand you can't have everything you want in a game. I'm not sayin ASB isn't a great game. I just feel Acclaim should be more careful in what they say.

If you wanna buy a product from a company that doesn't seem at all interested in what you want, go ahead. You are the reason they continue to release products that only satisfy their needs.

It was definitely a poor choice of words. But lets not crucify the guy for one sentence. There isn't one person in here or anywhere else for that matter, that hasn't said something they wish they could take back. I give him props for being honest with us. He could have said ,maybe next year. At least you know it probably won't be in next year either. If thats a deal breaker for anyone, then its on to the next game.

Hmmm...I just noticed that in a couple of posts back, someone said that ASB has added 3 for 1 trades this year. You mean that wasn't there last year? Seems like a pretty fundamental part of Franchise mode to me. It strikes me as a little surprising, considering how much other stuff they do. I wonder why this has never made it into the game until this year?

yea you are right. I shouldn't be so stuck up on that one line. The more and more I think about it, the more I really don't care.

What really frustrated me about ASB is the schedule not changin from year to year. I'm just upset that in today's world a company can't even get somethin like that right.

That being said, I'll likely still give ASB a rental (just as I will rent about every other baseball game on the planet). Perhaps the game would be too good to pass up, even with the same schedule every year.

I did enjoy 2002 and i'm sure 2003 will be much better.

I could be wrong, but 3-1 trades were in ASB 2002.

The improvement is that the CPU will now offer you 3-1 trades. I believe almost every video game doesn't have the CPU actually use this feature. It's more of a user thing.

ASB 2003 assures us that the computer will also use the feature.

If there is online play, I see a Yankees vs Braves series in our future.

Ah, I see. That makes more sense to me then. I can't speak for High Heat, but I know WSB CPU teams offered two or three for one trades (or even three for two) last year. At least the user could force it through their own initiative in ASB last year. That's better than not having it at all.
