Weird, never had any problems with it before, I'll check for an updated driver, but it seems odd a game like OOTP wouldn't work, especially something as insignificant as the in-game scoreboard.

What you can do: It depends. If the guy accepts a minor league assignment you can just plop him in your minor league system. If it's a veteran player who refuses to go down to AAA, you must release him after his time on the wire expires. The point of the waiver wire, for veterans anyway, is hoping someone claims him so you don't have to eat his salary if you cut him; sometimes you may not want to lose a player but at the same time don't want him on your 25 man roster, so it's a risk to demote vets.
I think I understand, correct me if I'm wrong:
-I have a guy on my major league roster who I don't want there
-I try to demote him to AAA, but he refuses
-My next step is to place him on waivers hoping somebody claims him and eats his contract
-If he goes unclaimed I am out of options except to cut him(eating his contract) or leave him on my MLB team?

Is there any way to get a player who refuses a AAA assignment to go on your AAA roster anyway? Or once they refuse it is either get rid of them or leave them in the majors?

For all of the real teams and players, (from 1901 to 2006 anyway) grab the Lahman Database. There is a roster mod out I believe that adds all of the minor league teams as well as their logos and jerseys. Check the forums at http://www.ootpdevelopments.com and you can either find what you need or someone can lead you to them.
Thanks, I found a site for mods on the game, padre's something, but it didn't have quite was I was looking for, I will check out the OOTP forums.

Make sure to watch the video tutorials and also grab the online manual, which weighs in at 500 pages in a PDF file. It's a big, big, game.
I made it through the video tutorials, they were semi-helpful, a little too broad for me, but I did learn a few things. I will get the manual, thanks for the heads up on that.

Thanks for the reply, it was very helpful.

    Can anyone answer the following:

-I just started a new league as the manager of a single A team. What all responsabilities do I have there? Can I call up from short season A or rookie ball or is my entire roster at the mercey of the higher powers?

That's how it works. To my knowledge a vet who is out of minor league option years has the right to tell the team to either keep him on the ML roster or cut him (and therefore pay him) after he clears waivers. Baseball players (vets) have the best contracts around.

I sent Camulos a PM letting him know I registered at the BLB site. Nice looking site BTW. Gonna put my name on the waiting list sometime today. Looking forward to seeing some of the OS crew over at the BLB boards.

            Another beginner question:

-I'm the GM of a rookie ball team. Everytime someone gets hurt, the CPU automatically re-generates all of my rosters, even if it is a pitcher who gets hurt, they redo the lineups and fielding positions. I've tried looking at all of the options, the Set Lineups option is set to be controlled by me, but I can't stop them from redoing them with each injury. Is there a way to get this to stop, or am I stuck with it?
