when setting up your sims just how exacting do you get, i mean what about pinch hitters and relievers, do you set up an order in which you want them to appear, for instance say your team is down 5-0 in the bottom of the 7th and your pitcher is due to leadoff, will the cpu pinch hit a contact hitter vs your only power guy on the bench or is this something you somehow set up before hand.

There are managerial and situational sliders that you can tweak. You'll find out that the management AI is the best for any text-based sim.

For your pitching staff, you'll assign your rotation (such as 4 or 5 man), and whether it's a strict rotation or you want to start the highest rested starter. You'll assign a spot starter, if you want to. For your relievers, the guy at the top of your middle relief list usually logs the most innings, while the guy at the bottom could be considered situational. There's also a spot for a mop-up reliever, set-up man, and closer.

You can also set strategy for individual players. So for example you can give your ace a chance to get out of trouble before getting yanked while your 5th starter might have a quicker hook. You can also set pitch counts, etc.

For batters you can do the same type of things for bunting, stealing, etc.

To those that have also played Football Manager, how does this the learning curve for this game compare? I've played FM for the past 5 years or so, but have only dabbled with OOTP's demo. The league seems like a ton of fun, and I will be keeping an eye on the forums over there, possibly looking to hop on board at some point!
