Re: Any OOTP 2007 preview winners here?
Really looking forward to this release. I've played every OOTP game since OOTP5 and I have to say right now 6.5 is my favorite, but I am hearing that 2007 absolutely kills it.
I also don't think its that unreasonable to be disappointed at no audio as I usually sim with in game audio on. My view on it though, if the AI is right, the game will be amazing. I am looking forward to starting my baseball universe on the 23rd.
Also, is there an OOTP league being set up for 2007? If so, is there a waiting list or anything I could get on?Comment

You should check out the BLB (link in Diesel's post above). Basically, the SIMS take place one week at a time, but you really have total control of most of the facets of your team. There's a full off-season, 3 minor league levels, draft, Rule 5, Free Agency, you control your finances. It's a great time with the right group of owners.
In the BLB, we have 19 great guys (and Diesel) and I'm having more fun in this league then just about any gaming experience I've had. We're finishing up Season 3 (1980) right now and getting ready for the playoffs...well... at least 4 teams are. I think we may move to 2007 before the '81 season, if not then, for sure after '81. I think the plan is to expand by 4 teams in '82 as well.
Check out the site and get a message to Andrew (on the BLB board) who is actually Camulos on OS. It's a good time.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

Re: Any OOTP 2007 preview winners here?
whoa, thats a lot of stuff to look after, i'll check it out , it does sound like fun but i'm an OOTP novice and think i would need some practice before competing with the big boys,is there any easy reading kind of guide to sort of get started with OOTP, i did have a look at the manual for 06 but it was like 300 pages or something, i've really only just played a few games of it to be honest.

1) Get the game (07 when it drops) and play around a lot with the single player. You can learn a ton.
2) Hang out at League boards like BLB. You pick up a lot there.
3) Go to Sports Interactives forums and just search. There are a ton of great posts on there with info.
Most importantly, the main thing to be successful in a league like BLB is to be active and know a little bit about baseball. It's competitive but not cutthroat. People don't screw eachother over and everyone is quick to help out and answer question. But, you do have to commit to participate. And, I'm a firm believer that the amount of time you commit to it has a direct correlation to the success you see on the field. If you spend 15 minutes a week ,you will only be as good as your best player. If you actually dive into it deeper, you'll get more out of it.
Plus, even sucking at the game is fun. I took over my Franchise from a free-spending past administration and I'm having a ton of fun trying to rebuild and be ready to compete in the future.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

There are a few teams that are in complete rebuild mode and have zero shot to even make the post season.Comment
