Re: Official MLB Power Pros thread!
Some updated info from the Japanese website:
Things already known:
- 5 levels of lock-on when batting
New stuff not posted here yet:
- New camera on defense
- Expert pitching system from Pro Yakyuu Spirits (where the American games copied it from), press a button at release to match the circle for most effective pitch
- There is a basic edit mode...looks like you can only change names, jersey number, and appearance but not the actual attributes.
- New default hitting angle will show you a wider view of the field, but there's another new batting camera called Wide - you can the widest view when batting - not sure if this is specific for 16:9. You can still switch to classic camera if you want for batting/pitchng/defense.
- The pitch indicator can be chosen from Point-style (like every other Pawapuro game) or Ball-style, which is like from the videos on GameSpot, you can see the seams moving on the ball as it comes toward you.
- Season mode goes up to 10 years, and you can have 3 separate save files, so you can have 3 different seasons going on at the same time if you want.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros thread!
Supposedly some stats were posted up on Dengeki PS2. Japanese fans are upset over at the 2ch boards as it looks like the player stats are based off of last season's stats instead of this past June as was suggested earlier.
Maybe it's just the Japanese version that has the messed up stats and the US version is fine? Wishful thinking I know.
Rough conversion for the max speeds listed (from kmh to mph): 160 kmh ~ 99 mph, 150 kmh ~ 93 mph, 140 kmh ~ 87 mph, etc
Taken from the Japanesebaseball.com videogame forum:

Re: Official MLB Power Pros thread!
There are many red flags like this that are taking the wind out of the sails... Or should I say sales? Well, for me at least.
While I applaud them for the idea of bringing the game over, they gotta do more. So sorry 2K Sports, I'm just not a fan of the many half assed attempts that seem to be the standard for the industry these days.
Besides, I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from the abomination that was The Bigs. All ties severed...Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros thread!
Looks like this was just a quick "Let's get something on the Wii" move by 2K. I'm actually not sure why they are bringing the PS2 version over as well, since they have MLB2k7 on the PS2 already.
I'll probably still pick it up.Comment
