I'm really curious about the PS2 version as well. Disappointed to hear the Wii isn't widescreen and not progressive scan. I didn't really care about the motion sensor from the Wiimotes, so i'm looking for some PS2 impressions.

I'm definitely leaning in that direction. Curious as to how it looks upscaled on a PS3.

I think so.... you have to go to "bullpen", then place the new pitcher into the lineup , other than in the pitcher's hitting spot... then go to "defense", place the substitute fielder into the spot where the old pitcher was..

For example (I was just "messing" around).. I had Moyer in a game. I wanted to replace him, so I brought Madison in. I placed him in the #6 spot (Aaron Rowland's spot).. this was done from the "bullpen" screen.. next I went to "defense" screen.. my lineup still has both pitchers in the game (Moyer at #9, Madison at #6).. I put Michael Bourn into the #9 slot in my lineup & presto - double switch ... I know there has to be an easier way to do it... hope this helps though

It looks really good playing on the PS3, very smooth, not grainy, no blurriness. It plays and looks great on the ps3...no hiccups what so ever. This is assuming you do not have the new 80 gig mdl w/ no ee. I am not sure that plays, or if it does.

To the 3 other guys in Canada still following baseball, the game will be available tomorrow at EBGames.

I have played Pawapuro for the last 7 years, I own Pawapuro 11,12,13 and Pawamajor (I have a japanese ps2).

Anyone who thinks that this game is for children and is an easy game is wayyyy off.

Besides for the graphics (oubviously), this is the most realistic baseball series ever made.

Tho only thing missing frome the japenese version was the edit mode...

you can edit basically everything about your team, from colors of hats (and brims) to colors of sleeves.. the only problem though is that they only give you the selection of real stadiums to pick as your park - not some "made up" ones..

So can you choose to play a season as one of the expansion teams..and can you trade the made up "fictional" players to other teams?

If so, this game just made my gaming year! There hasn't been any kind of expansion mode in a baseball game since ASB like 4 years ago

So are the made up players expansion quality or better?

You buy the fictional stadiums in the shop.

the quality of player would be like what would would expect as in real life ........ if you do a "fantasy draft", you can just select minor players if you wish (to get that "expansion draft" feeling"..

Excellent, sounds exactly like what I would prefer. I'll be sure to check it out tonight, I just picked my copy up at Gamestop(thank you 10% off coupon).

& yes, position batters do bunt (I saw the CPU's "Garciaparra" bunt a couple runners over) - looked cool watching his "little feet" thing that he does in real life...

I picked it up and just finished my first game, Red Sox vs. Angels. I went 5 with Beckett and he gave up 3 runs, Tavarez and Okajima combined to shut down the Halos the rest of the way. Manny won it with a two-run shot in the bottom of the 9th of Shields. All on normal mode, using my GC controller.

The game is excellent. It's also extremely quirky and definitely has a feel to it all its own. The controls and the way it wants you to do things are definitely different than most baseball games I've played. I think the learning curve is going to be a little steep at first.

So the Wii version is 39.99 and the PS2 version is 29.99.
Would I be missing anything (Except the obvious wiimote stuff for HR derby) if I just get the PS2 version?

I doubt it but the Wii version does have end of the game replays and stuff. Maybe the PS2 would do that if you have a hard drive?

Doesn't look like it, since there's no native 16:9 or 480p support on the Wii.

I think the PS2 version has replays as well, dunno how many it keeps track of though.

I'd be playing it on a PS3. Then again the game would have to have been programmed for that(HDisk Support).... Anyone with a PS3 playing this game have any input?

I have MLB The Show and simply love it but I love baseball and don't want to pass this game up if I can help it. I'm sure it brings something "different" to the arena. At least I hope so.
