So what's going to be the strategy for this? Adjust stats, sim a whole season, tweak, repeat as needed?

That sounds like a good start..I;ll have the game in hand by Thursday at latest...

I so see this as a great sim game with SNES/Genesis type graphics...I hope the game makes me feel like a kid again

Gosh I loved RBI baseball, Super Baseball Sim 1,000, Baseball Stars, Sportstalk, etc

hope the stat keeping is good//I heard it is

I was thinking we could work on the special attributes out of the gate and go from there.

Well if we're just starting out,

Prince Fielder likely needs a major power boost
A-Rod probably needs max power, unless he already has max pwr

There are a ton of players to create as well...and if we can do minors, that makes even more

I can help with the minors. I'm an avid Baseball America reader, and follow the prospects.

Is this being done only for the Wii? or the PS2 version also??

After a quick look through the edit mode, it looks pretty complete. You can even set the previous season's final stat line! I was able to fill in Bonds' 2006 numbers when I was fixing his name from Great Gonzales.

You're also not allowed to use any team retired numbers when choosing a new number for a player.

Would be nice if it had High Heats editing system.

I think I remember HH allowing you to enter end of season stats and then it would recalculate that to find the player's ratings.

I do like not being able to assign a retired number. At least I know that if I add a player who wears the number 3 to the Yankees he'd have to change his jersey. Cool addition.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

You can't use retired numbers?! I fail to see how that is a cool addition. Attention to detail yes, but also restrictive if you want to create old time players and teams.

Re: MLB Power Pros - Roster Edits

One potential issue: I don't think there's a separate save file for rosters, just one master save for everything. If this is the case, and we can't find an easy way to merge changes from save file to save file, we may need a dedicated data wrangler - everyone posts their info for the teams they are working on, and the wrangler will adjust everything on a master save file that already has anything needed unlocked (batting stances & pitching forms from the shop, etc). This will be a "clean" save, meaning no other data on it (HR Derby records, Season Mode saves, etc). That way the "ultimate roster save" file is perfectly suited for first-time play. This would have to be done on both PS2 and Wii platforms.

Does this sound about right? Or am I missing something?

I can volunteer to be a master wrangler and work on the master save...I have at least 3 hours per day to dedicate to getting this done as fast as possible for us all to enjoy.
I am getting the ps2 version, but will be buying the wii version as well as sson as I find it in stores (EB is shipping me the ps2 version and will have on Thursday afternoon!)

I have a max drive by the way

I love that Beckett's best pitch is his 5-rated forkball. He doesn't throw a forkball. Or a splitter. Or anything like that.

Potentially bad news...read a report on the GAF forums that the Wii save files are protected...can't directly copy them from system memory to SD card. Can anyone else confirm?

Anyone know if there's a 3rd-party utility out there for Wii save transfers?

                              That's... not... great... news.

If they can't be edited en mass maybe we could do a "top 50 players to edit" thing to at least get the stars to do what they should.
