ok...i know its early but where do you guys think this game fits into the all-time baseball videogame rankings. IN addition to voting you can leave a top 5 or 10. Here is how I see it

^^^^LOL I see your a fan of sega sports/2k......I like high heat 04, also RBI baseball 94 for genesis...MVP05 will b second for me....the very first tripple plays was good too!

MVP 05 for PC is the greatest of all-time, after Mods.

After that, RBI Baseball III, as well as Roger Clemens MVP Baseball were my next favorites.

2K7 is next in line.

2K8 is well on its way though.

I actually thought High Heat 04 was a better game than MVP05. the main difference what that EA owned MVP, and not the now defunct 3DO and got more support and ended up with a bigger community of modders. HH2004 after the mods that were released, was a very good game.

if I can remember mvp05modders came from HH04...man I miss HH04! they even had pitchers mess up on the mound bark wat its called? stats was great they ahd every stat u can think of!

Loved both of those games.

Mvp 2005 was great, 2k3 for dreamcast was good. MLB 2k7 was decent, im really liking 2k8 tho.

I guess there aren't too many people around from the HH days. Or maybe everyone here is a console fan. But the years that HH was in its prime was really the best time ever for baseball gaming. Not only was that the most realistic and best playing game ever, it had the largest mod community and had amazing flexability to add stadiums, player faces, rosters, tune files, balls, etc. HH certainly gets my vote.

The best baseball video game ever was Statis-Pro Baseball by Avalon Hill for the Commodore 64. It was a text-based simulation. You could play a game in 15 minutes and the stats were sick...

There was a small play-by-play box at the bottom. The best part -- No need to by a new version each year. You could create your own season disks every year with the purchase of Athlon Baseball Mag......Or any other mag with stats....

"GOAT" is such a hard thing to qualify; I haven't played them all, for one. But just in terms of my all-time favs, they would be:

MLB 2K7 (360)
MLB 06 (PS2)
World Series Baseball (Genesis)
Bases Loaded (NES)

MLB 2K8 might make the list with a high-quality patch. Here's hoping.

Does anyone remember Hardball 6 for the pc? It may be nostalgia, but my older brother and his friends and I would play that game for hours on end. In this one game I was playing with the Astros, winning by 1 in the bottom of the ninth, playing the dodgers, man on 1st, Mike Piazza at the plate. The next thing I remember was Piazza trotting around the bases...
