Just grabbed the game last night.

I have a brilliant idea...

After I get used to the features and figure out how to run a team through some trial and error franchises, I'm going to take over the 1993 Pirates and keep the ship from sinking. I can't wait.

The download file will always include the most recent patch. So if you download the source file after a patch has been released, you won't have to download the patch.

In the future (once your game is installed), you'll have to download a patch manually.

The league I'm in now just decided to convert to X from 9, so now that I have the game I'd be interested in an OS league.

The one I'm in now is a MLB league so a fictional league would be a breathe of fresh air. I know these leagues can be quite a bit of work, so I'd gladly help out when needed.

Being someone who has never played this type of game before and is a huge baseball fan, is it worth it? And say if i wanted to start a franchise with the 1995 Seattle Mariners, could I do this without having to download any extra files? thank

The game includes the Lahman database so you can start as pretty much any franchise in any year without downloading anything extra. If you want things like proper logos and player pictures you will need to download mods. They are readily available and easy to install though.

Any suggestions on how to get a guy out of a slump?

I've got an infielder in my test/trial league who just can't get going. The ratings are there in that he should be doing SOMETHING, at least compared to similar guys. Out of a possible 20, he's 12 contact, 20 gap power, 7 HR Power, 12 Eye, and 13 avoid K's.

But before yanking him from the lineup due to inefectiveness, he was hitting .119 through half a month of play. Since then, he's gotten some spot starts and I hit him as a pinch hitter pretty often, but he's just 2-for-15 in those roles. He's still got some potential and he's a great defensive infielder, so I'm not ready to bail on him, but I feel like he should be better than a .122 hitter at this point.

Any tips?
