Heyward's struggling so far in my season. .211/.289/.447 through 11 games and 38 at-bats. He has 2 HR's and 9 RBI's, but I'd still be expecting him to do better after a pretty good start against the Cubs.

Yunel Escobar, on the other hand, is my leadoff hitter and is acting like my clean up hitter. He has 5 HR's through 11 games and 48 AB's, and he's hitting .313/.400/.646.

Initiated trade talks with the Cleveland Indians. I see they are 6-11 with terrible pitching. Making Kris Medlen the center piece of perhaps a hitter... I don't want to spoil it or jinx it so I'll let you guys know when the trade is made official! It's the end of April BTW.

On April 26, 2010 in my franchise, I'm proud to announce that I ripped the Indians off of LF Matt LaPorta giving up potentially star-studded SP Kris Medlen and LF Matt Diaz. I thought they wouldn't accept because they wanted another younger player instead of Diaz, but I got rid of his contract so it's good. Was ready to give up LF Cody Johnson as well, but he had to go on the DL. I hope the OOTP Cleveland fans are crying.

Brought up Jo-Jo Reyes who was sporting a 2.39 ERA in the minors to replace Medlen's spot. LaPorta will immediately play in the sixth spot in the lineup.

Had to turn ghost players on in my minors... got pissed that 14 of my minor leaguers got injured...

EDIT- Nevermind. Got over it and just promoted a lot of people to fill the needs.

If you want lower injuries in your minors, and if you want to make it easier for yourself. It takes away from the realism of the game though just because you don't have to have full rosters for each level.

Made two exciting major minor league moves today:
---Promoted SP Randall Delgado to AA Mississippi after pitching 43.2 innings in High-A Myrtle Beach, posting an ERA of 3.50 with 62 K's and 17 BB's. He also posted a WHIP of 1.03 and a .250 BABIP. He is only 20 years old.
---Promoted SP Arodys Vizcaino to High-A Myrtle Beach after pitching 47.2 innings in Low-A Rome, posting an ERA of 1.13 with 59 K's and 14 BB's. He also posted a 0.84 WHIP and a .214 BABIP. He is only 19 years old.

I have another new player question - can you draft real life prospects like Harper in the game or do I have to find a modded database with all the HS and college leagues?

Bryce Harper is in the game, and he is always darned good I hear. But other than him, I don't think there are any other real prospects.

I think there are about 10 real players in the first draft of MLB quickstart. James Tailion and Manny Machado is in it besides Harper. After that I'm not %100 on which are in it but some of top 10 guys I would guess like Drew Pomeranz.

Braves had the 19th overall selection in the draft and drafted SS Manny Machado! Glad he fell to me. He's projected to be a 3B in the future - perfect one to replace Chipper Jones' position.

Yes. I just signed Machado to slot money, but Harper is yet to sign with the Nationals.

Going to run with the Twins as I like Morneau (Canadian) and Mauer. Matt, what settings are you running in your quickstart? How much are you allocating to scouting and all that?

I'm playing with 2-8 ratings (not too easy, not too hard but keeps the ratings more foggy so it's not so easy to judge players) scouts and coaches on. Turned off dynamic league settings. Trade settings on all default except difficulty set to Hard.
