    Re: Questions for ASB Man

ASB_Man, while you are hanging around a bit today, think you can shed some light on my question above about 40 man rosters. Thanks

Think he already said in this thread there are no expanded rosters.

            Re: Questions for ASB Man

            From our lead designer:
Once a player is signed by an organization through the amateur draft or as a free agent the clock immediately starts ticking on the club's exclusive rights to the player.

After 3 complete minor league seasons the team must decide if they want to sign the player to a major-league contract (adding him to the 40-man roster) or not, making him available to the other teams through the Rule V Draft. At this point another organization can draft that player away, but the catch is they must keep that player on their 25-man roster for the entire next season, otherwise he will be returned back to his original organization.

Once a player is put on the 40-man roster is has what is called option years. In all a player has three options. That does not mean they can be brought up and down only three times, they can be brought up and down as many times a team so chooses within a three-year period. Once, he is out of options he must be placed through waivers in order to send him down to the minors. If the player clears waivers he can be sent down, otherwise another organization can claim him.

Thanks ASB_Man, gonna try to ask this another way.

So there is never a point the year that you actually have 40 players on the MLB roster. Not spring training or otherwise.

I guess if you have 16 fielders and 9 pitchers you could squeek buy in the split squad games, hopefully no one gets hurt

ASB_man is the game almost finished or is it finished? I really really hope this game comes out 3/10 or possible 3/3.

I asked this a couple of pages back, ASB_Man, but it kind've got lost. If you get a chance, I'd love to know the answer. Thanks.

"I don't know if you're still answering questions ASB_Man, but I've got one that I've been wondering about for a couple of years now. Don't know why I didn't think to ask it earlier.

If you use Easy Batting and guess the pitch selection/location before the pitcher throws, does it have any effect on your hitting? I know with cursor hitting it will increase the size of the cursor, but I've never known whether it was for sure making a difference if I guessed right in Easy Batting (which has been great on the upper difficulty level the past couple of years, by the way)."
