They expanded the strike zone in 12. Higher and lower to replicate the lower batting averages in NPB. The hitting is better than 11 and they have gotten rid of some truly ugly animations/graphics where you have two infielders virtually on top of one another trying to field a pop up.

I picked up a copy of 2009 simply because it had WBC in it and I got it for $27 that includes shipping but ill get 2013 as well I think. Any experience in 09? Was it hard to hit in that one to?

This is really unfortunate as I would buy each version no question if I did't have to pay such high import fees/shipping costs.

2009 will have more offense. Back then the NPB used a lighter ball so here was more power accross the board. In fact, in the options you could choose light ball, normal ball or heavy ball. However, in 2011 the NPB used a heavier ball so offensive production was nerfed. The game replicated this by increasing the strike zone, pitcher control and adjusting attributes. They also took away the option to use light or normal ball which was upsetting to me at least.

So 2013 comes out in a week, and you'll have a good balance of two different games. One being more wide open and the other being more conservative.

I decided to pick up a used copy (last one) of Professional Baseball Spirit 6 ($12.95 + $3.95 shipping Domestically, got it in a couple days.)

Are there sliders to allow for a more variable strike zone? It seems as though as long as you hit the strike zone box, it's automatically called a strike.

I just ordered mine from amazon yesterday. With being in Canada I'm not expecting it to be here for 2-3 weeks. I'll be ordering 2013 this week to I think

Okay, let me put it this way. Is pinpoint pitching accuracy one of the strengths to this series? I can pinpoint exactly where I want the pitch to be thrown.

Whether it's batting or pitching Konami rewards you for good performance. If the pitch meter is too easy for you to master then you have to make pitch settings more difficult. For me that meant changing to "1-Button" style where I choose the pitch & location while the CPU chooses control based on attributes. If you must play with the meter on there's still things you can do, check out this page...

Also, keep in mind condition plays a big role. If you're playing exhibition games and choosing pitchers with a happy face then results are going to be different than playing a guy with a sad face. For example when playing a season with an old veteran pitcher he may constantly come in the game in a lousy condition.

In 2010 I played as the Buffalo's in my season who had a terrible pitching staff. At one point I had 2 starters injured and their minor league replacements were horrid. I eventually rage quit that season and re-started with a team with better pitching.

Also, in 2013 there's supposed to be some changes regarding the pitcher control. Very little details but Konami's site says something like "Different feel to batting & hitting. Control attributes/location will make bigger difference."

Minor changes to menus, settings and gameplay will be up pronto. Anything major will take time, and the new GM mode may not even be viable to translate. That will be up to Muka to decide but first he'll need to play out a season. But Pennant & Exhibition? Not a problem.

You'll have a hard time finding reviews. Famitsu scored the Vita 37/40 last year and the PS3 came in at 35 or 36. However, they are not a very respected rag but I agree with the scores. Actually, OS took our translations and sort of did a review - they said the game is really good but the fact everything is in Japanese basically hampers the experience. It was more of an impressions instead of an official review.

If you can't find a setting that is difficult enough for you for pitching what some people do (me included on occasion) is to disable the pitch meter and just go by the pitchers release point. It's tough but fun if you practice with it and you may have to turn cpu hitting down a notch to make up for more meatballs.

Yeh, because the cpu can hit a ton.

Was playing The Show 13 yesterday and was winning 3 to 1 in the 7th. The cpu got a hit....it went to my 2nd baseman for an easy out.......but what happens next is why i Hate MLB TS13.....he didn't field it.......instead it went by him for an error......it took him forever to get to the ball....then he threw it to home plate only for it to be offline......as usual....they scored 2 and tied it.

I am going to start making replay movies to prove The Show has staged AI..

Thats why i play PYS 12 now.
