Hope springs eternal. Someone on one of these threads mentioned playing in Rookie mode and allowing the cpu to control all of your players. Eureka! Offense Baby! I lost to Montreal 10-6, and am currently beating Cincinatti 5-3 in the 7th. (Reds have 10 hits) Now I had a ...........few.........relatively high scoring games before, but this has promise. The truth is out there guys, we just gotta find it.

Well crap.

I assume you are still talking about ASB4, ? Are you playing manage mode or Human with control of all players turned to CPU. In that mode what do you have to do.. ? can you still make decisions .?

I was so peeved off after trying it again the other night, I sent the game home with my friend.. Now I can't even go try this... AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh h....

DAMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it.. Now I have to drive 40 miles to go get it again....

On the other hand, I can't imagine that I didn't try that at one time because I tried eveything I could think of, I even tried things I couldn't think of.

The truth is I spent more time editing, and expermenting than I did playing.

This time I think I'll just play the game before I do anything else.

Clevecluby, I was playing ASB04, and before I get too carried away, I played another game that ended 1-0. It was Morris against Vasquez, so it could still be an improvement. I certainly wouldn't mind the occasional well pitched game, just not every game. Here's hoping the manage only mode, where you can make decisions without having to go to the menu and change from cpu to 1p control ,and change from Rookie to manage only mode, will be improved in 2005 so that we can play manage mode as it was meant to be played.

50 eh?, At least I'm not the oldest here. Ya got me by a handfull.

"Please.... How about some Manage mode info. Are they still low scoring games, How are the pitch counts, Are there any walks, Has the offense been beefed up ? Are there still 10 pop-outs to every Ground out, and do K's still ave about 10 per team. ? Do runners advance bases this year. ?
-I'll be honest, I didn't spend much time with the Manage only mode. But all the AI improvements do directly apply to manage-only. So runners will advance more realistically, more walks, etc..."

Take that for what you will - let's hope that the overall improvements make for a better simulation in MO Mode.

Gado, I saw that. I'm cautiously optimistic. Clevecluby has been screaming from the top of his lungs for some manage only love, without success. I wish someone would just test it, that would be great. I will promise you, and all the mo croud this. I have already preordered this game, and will give actual results shortly after I get it. We know what we are looking for, and the people who are privy to the early builds know as well, thus the lack of confirmation of Clevecluby and others questions has me concerned, no doubt. We will keep searching. I'm just not ready to purchase another game system, for MLB 2005, and I read somewhere that the manage only mode was plagued by low offensive numbers. Sounds familiar. I'm also getting MVP ,(my birthday is a preorder what I want day) and am looking forward to its little manage mode as well. (though its not perfect, maybe it will be fun, in its own way)
