I hope that I'm not sounding out of the loop here... but in all seriousness, wouldn't you consider the Madden series to be the same way?

However, I do agree... that's the reason why Madden doesn't please me either.

Well to tell you the truth, I'm more of an ESPN football person myself. But Madden's gameplay engine is very solid. They don't need to mess with it because it's still arguably the best out there. All Star, IMO, has been passed by ESPN, MVP, and the late High Heat, and needs to mix things up.

I was just sickened by the whole "we don't need no stinkin' knowledge" vibe of this thread in general. When you have opinions based on games from years ago in the series, you don't want to know what's new, you have no intention of playing this year's game to find out, and you still feel like the developer has to "prove" something somehow... I just don't know what to say. And that was before a writer posted agreeing... It makes me question how much stock to put into OS reviews.

            *sigh*

Maybe that just means I've outgrown message boards.

Looking at the age poll... I guess I have.

Re: why is no one.. giving asb any respect???

Why do people get so emotional if someone dislikes their favorite game?? For good reasons or bad, does it matter? Does it somehow lessen their enjoyment of the game because someone else doesn't share in their opinion?

Not sure why this is in the MVP forum, but here's my take. I did not like ASB 2003. So, I did not even bother with ASB 2004. This year, I'm gonna give ASB a try again. But, yes, it will have to show me that it has improved, or ... I will not like it again. I won't know until I try it, so I reserve judgement.

But, even if I don't like this year's ASB, that should not have any affect on the enjoyment of those that do.
