Actually, I was doubting some of the things about the game myself until I saw that Game Informer vid. It really cleared up a lot of things I was worried about - pitch locations, presentation, lighting, and so on. The three things it always had on all the other games (realistic art style, depth, and HR collision detection) were the most important to me from the beginning, but it's nice to know some of the other concerns have been addressed.

I wouldn't even be here if the games were already out. I just like discussing them to kill time til they get here.

It's just been really hostile and crazy here lately, with everyone taking sides on games. I mean, opinions are great. I love hearing them. Except when they're uninformed, boisterous, and closed-minded. Then they kinda suck.

If you look at it one way, EA is bringing the most new stuff to thier game this season (since they lacked the most stuff to start with).

But if you look at it from the perspective of what new stuff are they brining to the genre of baseball that it doesn't already have? then your answer is not so much this year.

What game will prove to have the best gameplay this season after a year of developer tweaking? Anyone that isn't a blithering fanboy would be wise enough not to answer that until they can play the games for themselves and see.

Anyways, I feel your pain cub man, and I'm sorry to say it has spread well beyond this message board. I go to a couple other ones, and at least on two others people are citing ASB's problems from 3 years ago as "why it will suck this year". It's so bad that they are basing their entire decisions on what last years games offered, they're al hyped up on ESPN because WSB was so great....what they don't realize is how little has been changed on that game (I'm not saying it didn't make a big difference, just that in terms of number of things changed? not many). I tried to inform them of what ASB had this year only to be met with such pathetic argument as to pick apart one of the sentences I wrote, trying to claim it made my entire blotch of information on ASB completely void. That's about the time I realized that discussion was completely void of sanity and intelligence.

Man, I know it's annoying as yell, and I'll be enouhg of a "bigot" in some cases to proclaim that ASB fans are getting the biggest brunt of the idiocy this year. You don't see people coming into ESPN boards shouting "WSB 2K2 SUCKED, SO THIS ONE DOES TOO!". You don't see people in the MVP Board saying crap like that either. Only for ASB, it's so damn annoying. I can imagine it must be extremely hard to imagine how bad it is for fans of other games, but for cripes sake, don't even try, you don't want to know. Those of us who don't have time in their precious schedule to watch one or two ASB05 videos taking up a total of 5 minutes....are most of the time complete fanboys of other games. That's just ridiculous man. It's ridiculous that anyone would expect us to meet your ignorance with grace and respect. If you're not willing to watch one little video, you don't garner my dignity or respect. This year the Video pretty much shows it all, and what it doesn't show is information easily gathered by the many outputs offered on this Board and the main site. This has to be the easiest game to learn everything about this year, so if you're not willing to take 5 minutes to learn more about it, I have nothing to argue with you and you KNOW you're wrong.
