personally... let me just say this... and again.. this is just me PERSONALLY... ok?? if i were to design a baseball game... it would as closely reflect a tv broadcast as i could get.. and you would have all the stuff at your finger tips that a real team does... meaning everything that goes into being the boss... or on the field.. every camera angle... to me that is real baseball.. asb this yr from what i can see and hear... has this.. im more of a front office guy than anything... and that is what asb gives me... so that is again.. just MY take...

And many would agree with you. But there are some that want gameplay behind that presentation from the movies it does look like more of the same and that's what worries me a bit. I played every game last year and wasn't too impressed with any of them. If ASB has stayed relatively the same then no amount of grpahics are going make me want to play.

Also, it's pretty clear from reading what all was done to the game that there have been significant on-the-field changes. So I definitely would not say that it "has stayed relatively the same."

No, but really, this is exactly what we've been talking about in this thread. You go off on something about the game, Gameplay, that has been turned around like 180 degrees with all they've added this year, and have the ignorance to say nothing has changed....okay, maybe it's just me, but I've NEVER seen Behind-the-Feilder before. From the videos on ESPN it would appear that even they haven't really done what ASB has done, which some people apparently think they have. It's marketing. Someone you're marketing against gets said feature, you give it a pretty name and claim to have it...this has been done a WHOLE lot in the past 5-10 years, ESPECIALLY with sports games. Do they ever live up to the hype? Does any game ever have everything they've promised? Not anymore. That's why we have faith in ASB, because for 5 months we've heard stories from the ASB team of things to come, and then they finally let out some videos and...exactly as described, EXACTLY as sold. Nothing much missing. BUT ANYWAYS....

I've been wondering really, why everyone who doesn't give ASB a chance fits into these categories:

* Referring to much older versions of ASB as to why it will "suck" this year

* Do not take 5 minutes to watch one (BLEEP)ing video

* Complain about the Gameplay with no apparent knowledge that it has been changed and turned completely around

* Complain about the "squat" or the "vacuum" (rare nowadays)

But it all seems to tie into Graphics. Stop using the word "Gameplay" as a front. Tell us why you REALLY don't want to give it a chance. Is it too bright and colorful compared to other games?

I mean, there must be SOME valid point why you hate the series so much you're not even willing to learn anything about how it's changed...so spit it the hell out or spend 5 minutes downloading and watching a video. Whatever it is, I can tell with how badly you're apparently trying NOT to say it that it's something that isn't valid in any way. Pet Peeves? what? Can't we all just get along? Do you understand how annoying it is to have someone come in here and act like they know all about this year's game, act like they know where we're comin' from, and end up naming countless issues that were fixed TWO YEARS AGO?? Give us all a break, and at LEAST TRY to learn a little more about the game. If watching a video doesn't do it, watch a couple more, don't just come in here half-assed without the proper info assuming you know enough to judge it....obviously if we're in enough of an uproar about it to start the topic, you need to THINK ABOUT IT FOR A SECOND. Maybe there's even more to this game than you bothered to take 5 seconds to learn about, maybe that's why we're angry with it's reception. I don't mean to get off in a rant or anything here, or to be mean about anything, but you can't expect me or anyone else to just sit here and accept it gracefully. Question, why do you guys care about whether ASB is given any hype/respect? I could care less. I love ASB and as long as Acclaim continues to make it, I'll be looking forward to it each year so long as it's getting better. This whole debate gives me tired head. If people are passing on ASB, it's their loss.
