Question, why do you guys care about whether ASB is given any hype/respect? I could care less. I love ASB and as long as Acclaim continues to make it, I'll be looking forward to it each year so long as it's getting better. This whole debate gives me tired head. If people are passing on ASB, it's their loss.

Actually, Acclaim is going bankrupt (or so I've heard), and ASB 2006 may be their last baseball game.

Re: why is no one.. giving asb any respect???

I really don't care what game other people buy.

But reading all of the dismissals of ASB based entirely on misinformation (and complaints about ASB 2002 or whatever) gets kinda irritating... regardless of which game they buy.

They say "I hate the cursor! MVP/ESPN has non-cursor batting." You say "Umm... ASB had that last year."

They say "Well the gameplay hasn't changed!" You say, "Have you read a preview?"

They say "I don't need to read a preview to know it hasn't changed! Go away, fanboy!"

                  Etc.

Over time... and dozens and dozens of people like that... it just gets really frustrating. Meanwhile you've got IGN creating in-depth previews and hourlong movies of MVP every day, and their beta copy of ASB just sits there gathering dust.

I understand that games like MVP are tailor-made for game critics and people like Hil at IGN, but the end result is a lot of underinformed consumers.

And posts like the one I described.

I can understand you correcting those people when they're wrong. I wish people would say, hey, I don't want ASB instead of making up a reason not to like it. No matter what season it is, people feel like they have to justify their purchases. The great thing is, after the games are out, you won't even worry about what's going on in other forums if you don't have those games.

Also, it doesn't look like we'll be getting ASB at the same time as MVP anyways as there's no indication that it has gon e Gold.

I understand that games like MVP are tailor-made for game critics and people like Hil at IGN, but the end result is a lot of underinformed consumers.

And posts like the one I described.

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">Still, I'm like, So F'ing What? Ignore it! It's that individual's responsibility to seek out information on a particular item if they're interested in it. I'm not one to try to become informed about a product i'm not interested in.
