<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">Please, no pressure. I think the reviewers here have more balls than that. They won't be caving to the pressure of posters. Shawn has even taken the heat for his review and at the same time has defended his review. He didn't run and hide. Also, all ASB has to do is play as well or better than last years incarnation and I will be putting EA's broken game (which I cannot deny, I LOVE THAT DAMN GAME) up for sale on Ebay. No need in taking it to EB or GS and letting thing give me $25 so they can sell it for $44.99.

Michael that review was really comprehensive. Probably the most informative that I've read so far. And I really like how you guys include video to back up your points. I haven't really played ASB since the N64 days, but I'm gonna try it this year because of the good things people are saying about it.

Yes I would. I love mvp and mlb right now.I have never kept asb for more than a month since it left nintendo 64. But I will keep an open mind and give this years version a shot.

I would have been fine if he did not like the game. As long as the review is informative and actually gives you a review of the game as a whole.

Personally, I think scores should be removed from sports game reviews all together. Either that, or they should be broken up more than just a single score. Sports games are in a world of their own since there are different types of gamers for each sport. Sim, Casual, Franchise/Manage only. I want my baseball real, but I want my hockey "fun."

Ok, enough on that, let me answer questions.

To all asking about easy batting, try the zone. It's more like High Heat, while timing is more like MVP (except you can't direct where you hit the ball). Zone is different than 2D cursor mainly because there is no cursor in zone, it's not analog at all.

zx81 - If you've pitched in one game you've pitched in ASB. Point and click. I mentioned the AI being tough, it will walk you, but in the higher difficulties it won't be without a fight. And after all this time I still swing at junk.

Jrod - Analog swinging is a total afterthought. Come to think of it, I don't believe I even saw it in the manual!

Badgun - You want zone batting. Cursorless batting and just the A button (unless of course you want to bunt)

Pared - What pressure do I have to praise or trash ASB? It leads me to that age old question if IGN doesn't like a game for a particular reason, or sees fit to trash something, why do I automatically have to dislike the same things? I actually haven't even read their review yet. The game got a high rating from me because even though I now have two other baseball games on my shelf, the one I am playing my expansion franchise through is ASB, not MVP or MLB. All three of these games are great, and ASB to me is the best of the bunch. I have maintained that opinion for about 4 months now.
