Hmmmm... IGN gives the game a very good score, yet the review is ripped to shreds here because there's so little factual information on important issues. Every complaint listed by the reviewer was either about an optional camera, or some issue not related to gameplay (or simply incorrect... e.g., the batting stances).

So much for that theory.

C'mon man, that was Stoud... if you know anything of his posting history he wouldn't even care what score was because for him it's ASB, or NOTHING. No objective opinions from him!

Whatever, I'm looking forward to this and ESPN. Let's hope that damn crouch is minimalized....

Also (side note), preloading throws in general SUCKS when it comes to gameplay b/c you don't have the option to cancel a throw. Until some game puts that in, the method hurts ASB's gameplay more than anything...

" This site after he mentioned my review looks a lot like you were addressing this to my site. That's where I got that from. I read it twice before I replied.

e0820 - Yes, you can save at any point in the game. I mentioned it slightly in the end of the gameplay area.

Jistic - I wasn't questioning your thoughts on the review being accepted or not. I took offense to your comments that I was somehow trying to sell my site here. I got raked for not writing enough about MVP even though I believe I gave the PS2 version a 90 (the Xbox got lower for lack of online play). I haven't trashed ANY baseball games this year because IMO they are all very good. This is the first year I can remember that you actually have your pick of great Baseball. Even MLB 2005 rocks and I gave that a 90 as well. ASB just happens to be, and always has been this year my choice game, and that is why my score is a 91. To me, it's worth that because I'm still playing it even though I have all the other games minus ESPN. And I laid out my case for it as comprehensive as I could. That was my issue with you there. Nothing else.

Jrod - That is something that I have said in every Baseball review, none of them are perfect. And there is something in each game I like a lot. In MVP it's the Pitcher/Batter, in MLB it's the smooth fielding. But in ASB, its the Fieldercam, the attention to stat detail, and the Expansion Team mode that put it over the top for me.

Well, MVP also has preloading throws that you can't cancel. Would you say the same thing about it? The idea of preloading throws is that you are absolutely sure where you are going to throw.

And that's not entirely true because you have the ability to hit your cut-off man. In ASB once you make the future throw from the outfield you hold the cut-off man button and he will catch it. In MVP, it's the right trigger I believe. So you can cut off a preloaded throw and redirect it from the outfield.

Yes, I DO say the same about it in MVP.

You can do that same cut off thing in MVP.... but once you commit to a throw, you should be able to tap a Trigger button (any should work, really) that cancels it. What do you do if you preload a relay throw to third, and as soon as he gets the ball, you see the runner break back to second? Wouldn't you want to be able to hold the throw, then go to second? Happens all the time in baseball....

And for clarification, I never meant your site. Again, I've never heard of it. By THIS SITE, I meant OS, the one we are posting on right now.
